Got to admit that this is a MAJOR game changer for me too.
I was planning on picking up a new iMac, mostly just for this game. Let me tell you, a PS4 is a HELUVA lot cheaper than an iMac!
The funnier part is that you're in denial. Hackers on xbox live or psn? Good luck losing absolutely everything if and when you get caught (and you will). You think that the PC ESO will 'not' be plagued by hackers, bots, farmers and gold sellers? Really? LOL.
Getting you entire online service shut down and deleted with xbox live or psn is just a little different to the PC my friend.
and for those saying that they may "downgrade" ESO for consoles... let me ask you if you actually WATCHED the PS4 trailer for ESO. I CAN'T be the only one who's straight-up saying that it looks BETTER on the PS4 than the current trailers we've seen.
Absolutely, the new gen consoles are pretty impressive. Another point is how far they can push the system. A perfect example would be playing Oblivion and Skyrim back to back on the xbox360 and see just how much Bethesda pushed their engine considering it is on exactly the same system. An xbox360. There is daylight between Oblivion and Skyrim in terms of tech and graphics.
The megaserver should be able to deal with any unpopulated servers that result from the console split.
The next gen consoles aren't as limiting as you think them to be. With like 8 total buttons you need to press anyways, there's nothing that the new consoles with limit design choices wise.
Believe it or not, the new consoles will have decent graphics, enough to play it at least on lowest in PC standards, which is another reason why they won't have to cater decisions to PS4 and Xbox 1, by having to cater to low-end PC users as well, the blame can't be pinned exclusively on consoles. There's no reason why consoles will set the standard for how great graphics will be, PC and consoles can be different in terms of graphics for those with the PCs to handle it - there are always different settings to dumb down a game's graphic in any game.
They'll be on their own server, yes, but with much less limitations than the old generation consoles, patching should more or less be able to be done at the same time as the PCs, and people shouldn't feel left out.
Just because ESO is now on a console does not mean it automatically will have bad UI. It's a concern for sure, but we have no idea what the controllers for either console will look like, and what ESO has to work around. FFXIV (which is a MMO) has WoW amounts of hotbars and abilities on one screen, yet is being put on the PS3 as well as the PC. If they can handle putting potentially 40 abilities for the control in one place, that is easily accessible, ESO can easily handle the 8 they have.
Not all goldsellers are hackers. You're showing some naivety here. I don't care to argue the topic though because none of that really matters.
That would be called Bethesda stopped using the 10 year old gamebryo engine, it had nothing to do with the hardware, it was the horrible software.
I never said they were hackers 'and' gold sellers. They may be both, they may be separate. What it is, is that it is against the Terms and Conditions. Bottom line. Punishments on xbox live or psn are infinitely more severe than the PC as they shut down your entire account (across every game on the platform). That in itself would be a massive deterrent to a hacker, a gold seller, a bot or a cheater.
Its not just Bethesda, every developer learns to push and get the most out of a system. I could mention any console game series on the same platform. GTA IV compare it to GTA V when it releases. Assassins Creed compared to Assassins Creed 3, Uncharted 1 against Uncharted 3. Forza 2 v Forza 4. All the same devs, all on the same platform yet the tech and graphics improve dramatically as the developers learn and know how to push it.
Tell that to the dudes that spin around maps in COD headshotting everyone in .1 seconds. Exploiters will never be stopped, and they'll exploit to make profit. Wouldn't be surprised if there was an RMAH announced with their "unique trading outpost for players".
Sorry dude, not trying to be an [censored] and argue more than usual, but I'm on a war path tonight. I don't like being lied to by the only game company I had any respect left for. The near future will determine if I'm even going to throw my money at this game or not now.
I feel sad for you if this little lie because they wanted to keep it for an announcement kills your respect for the company.
Its a thin line. And keep your pity, its worth nothing here.
Doesn't affect me, I was most likely ever going to get it if it was B2P.
