To me it deserves 8/10 not less, not more anyway 7/10 is good enough for a DLC for me.

the main thing they said at E3 2012 is that you can do the main quest as vampire lord. Cool thing but vampire lord cant pass through many doors and cave tunnels ----> this is killing gameplay. thats all these little things that piss off the video testers, i met some of them one time they all have the same feeling about bethesda's games : epic potential but totally screwed by glitches game after game. In another side RPG are the most difficult games to manage so... Thats why more than 7 is not realistic.

I love skyrim i played it a lot like fallout 3 i really enjoyed that game but ... what eurogamer said is totally diserved (and i think they are not telling everything)

you can dude but each time you encounter a door you have to change form you know how many doors there are in skyrim? Also as the vampire lord is a spell caster its hard to hold your distance when you cant run back cause you cant pass a door

You must be new here. Usually, being a "Die-hard Elder Scrolls Fan" means that you have to say that everything besides Morrowind is absolute crap. I mean, I'm not sayin', but I'm just sayin'...
yet, most of the Morrowind fanatics have never played the old games in the serie and they still call themself the true fans
anyway, I don't think i can possibly ever agree with this, i'm so much of a brainwashed elder scroller for that

I thought it deserved a 9 out of 10, I tend not to trust eurogamer after they gave Shivering isles a 7 out of 10, and MGS4 a 8 out of 10...

Yeah. It wasn't a terrible DLC to be quite honest. The fact that it took me seven hours to beat compared to the two it took to earn $20 made it a good deal alone. I mean, I do miss expansions because they were far, far longer than the things we're getting today, but just considering... Anyways, my only complain is that the story for the vampires could have ended in a less abrupt manner(no spoilers here), but as for the Dawnguard I am not sure. Their armor is cool though.

To eurogamers credit, a 7 out of ten is a "good".
Indeed, people are unfortunately accustomed to big gaming sites rating software from 8.5 (it's crap but we cannot tell you out of fear of upsetting a big publisher) to 10 (thank you for your generous advertising).

Only small, indie developers are still given 6s and 7s.

Eurogamer is one of the very few review sites I trust, even if they are a bit inconsistent. I disregard the score and just read the review and draw my own conclusions from that.

Why do you care about reviews anyway? You pay good money, you get a shining review. You don't pay, you'll be scorned and given a bad rating. Review sites have always worked like that.

I don't see the big deal, I thought those were valid criticisms and their explanation of the overall feel of the DLC matched my own feel from watching the DLC vids. The score and article seem very fair.

That's higher than what I would give it. Dawnguard is bugged as hell for a lot of us, so I give it a two or three at most.

Bugged? I've not ran into any.

No man, everything Bethesda made is a gift from the heavens themselves and incapable of containing any fault. Because thinking is hard.
We're supposed to buy everything and drool over it. Didn't you get that memo?

Was the memo delivered with Patch 1.6? That may explain why I haven't got it yet.

Hooray for lack of support for the PS3 version, and Bethesda's fanatical stance of telling us nothing!
