I thought it deserved a 9 out of 10, I tend not to trust eurogamer after they gave Shivering isles a 7 out of 10, and MGS4 a 8 out of 10...

Yeah i've never liked Eurogamer. Very inconsistent reviews and some idiotic reasoning behind their articles. I'll stick with gamespot, gameinformer, and joystiq. Plus review indexing sites.

I would've been quick to call it epic. There were many good action packed moments that got me really into the game. Far better than vanilla MQ IMO

That's higher than what I would give it. Dawnguard is bugged as hell for a lot of us, so I give it a two or three at most.

If you were looking for something to justify your purchase, only pay attention to those.

To eurogamers credit, a 7 out of ten is a "good".

I wouldn't trust anyone who gave Shivering Isles a 7/10. That was possibly the best expansion/DLC I've ever played, and IMO it was certainly better than vanilla Oblivion as a stand-alone product.

It was better in all regards, voice acting, weapons variety, armor variety plus the rest.

Shivering Isles was absolutely great. Dawnguard? Not so much. It's pretty damn bugged for me, so I'm pretty damn pissed.

All I have had is a few extra game crashes but nothing terrible. The story was enthralling to me.

Game only crashes for me when I try to mix up the Vampire Lord abilities..like vampiric grip on a frost troll fused with blood drain, it sometimes locks up the console..other times works fine,

But yeah

Very good DLC, deserves at least a 9/10

I would only give it a 4 or a 5.
Most of you are just die hard elder scrolls fan, so you are biased. Almost everything euro gamer said was true, don't know why you guys are complaining.

Be careful when you say that, it is your gaming point of view, these guys are testing videogames everydays. Dawnguard is like fallout 2, could have been epic but is "just" good ( neutral point of view ). You say dawnguard is epic but its just because you're a fan dude, and that's a good thing for you .
In the other way dawnguard you must admit is very linear and don't add anything new to the game (quests are just the same whatever you choose), except the fact you can be a vampire lord you dont have any impact on skyrim and people still dont give a .. like when you killed alduin. That was one of the main immersion problem in that game and they did exactly the same thing with dawnguard.
The problem is that when you watch the trailer you directly think "great at least we are free to be evil to eradicate the sun forever". Instead of that your imagination start to work and you think that bethesda finally understood all these complains... but you buy dawnguard and welcome back in the reality.
Im not saying DG is a bad dlc im just saying that i totally agree with eurogamer to stay on the thread, DG is not an epic DLC.

It amazes me that these so called "Unbiased" reviewers think that DG is bad, yet they keep giving CoD games 9/10 every time it comes out even though there are tons of bad points about it. Really Unbiased.

Also we like DG because we are Skyrim fans, doesn't make us Biased, we just enjoyed playing it. Yes the quests are not too different from what we've seen already, yes there are issues with it (However not as many thanks to Beta testers). I enjoyed DG. Fair enough if you didn't like it, I know you can't please everyone. I just wish that reviwers would base their reviews on how much they enjoyed it, not what it looks like or what features are added.

I dunno, I think there was plenty added as well as some very action packed moments for this type of game.

And you're right, most on here love ES but that shouldn't come as a surprise since you're on the official forums.

My "biased" opinion gives it an 11/10 ;)

You must be new here. Usually, being a "Die-hard Elder Scrolls Fan" means that you have to say that everything besides Morrowind is absolute crap. I mean, I'm not sayin', but I'm just sayin'...

Back on topic, though. I personally think EuroGamer's score was totally justified. I mean, it is just an opinion at the end of the day. And a 7 isn't really too bad... If you don't have any low scores, the highs will turn into averages. So accept everybody into your hearts; Regardless of review scores! And soon, efurrybody will be happy. :D

Reviews are subjective and folks are bound to have different opinions.

I'd give Dawnguard an 8/10, 9/10 if I'm feeling very generous. It's not perfect, but it's damned good.

Meh, who cares? Not everyone is going to like it. I think it's bloody awesome, and that's all that matters to me
