Is it even worth trying toick a master lock?

I hate the lock picking in sky rim but I'm much better at it that I'm at it in oblivion lol. I got like 5 master locks with a skill of about 17

I'm indifferent about it, but I was much better at Oblivion's.

isnt there a perk that makes it so your picks dont break or someting?

Yes.

Yes. It takes Lockpick 100 and 5 perks.

Just stockpile lockpicks and go for it, I have over 300 lockpicks now. Because you can pick any lock at any level it means the lock pick tree is useless so don't spend any perks in it, instead always check shop's misc section and you will usually be able to by 10-30 a time.

*chuckles* On my last playthrough on Oblivion, every time I went out exploring I'd bring the loot back to Ongar (or whatever his name was) in the far north town, and I'd buy him out for lockpicks while selling him all my new loot. I think I've got 2 or 3 thousand picks on that character = P

I've never hesitated to pick them at any skill level. They are not that bad.
This, if you're careful you can test the lock more than once or sometimes even twice without breaking the pick, even at low skill. I've never levelled my skill, and so it's probably no higher than 30, and I've picked every lock I've come across so far.

The lockpicking system is stupid easy. Once you figure out an optimized way to seek the "sweet spot" you can pick even master locks with only 10-15 picks at most. I got good at it when i hit 30 lockpicking, never perked into it, and it usually takes me about 5-7 picks to find the sweetspot, and another 2-3 to actually get it right.

Like Oblivion though, its generally not worth it. However, i'm baffled by the people that say you couldnt attempt it. I always have been able to, and it was EVEN easier once you got the pattern down. I think you mean fallout...

I'm so used to all the tricks from FO3 and FONV that I can pick Master Locks with 10-20 LPs at level 10, lol.
Yep. The check left, check right, start anew. Either that or just go for it and blow a dozen picks on a master lock for the xp.

I can pick them fairly easily. May burn through 10 lockpicks max. First find the general area to start with light very light taps of the keyboard then narrow it down.
