Console commands.

Something incredible that I discovered:

I can take my XBOX 360 save file, transfer it over to my PC using a flash drive, and it loads up on the PC version.

After my game loads, I open the console, edit my character, add any and ALL UNOBTAINABLE ITEMS, beef up my stats, etc. Then save my game.

Pop the save back onto the flash drive, move it back over to the 360, load up the game, and all of the changes transfer.

All of the items that are impossible to obtain without use of console commands are now in my inventory.

The reason this works is simple. Very simple.

The creation engine is the same on consoles as it is on PC.

I was very excited and happy at first, but then it made perfect sense that it worked.

OF COURSE, mods do not work on the 360, obviously.

Before anyone flames me, this DOES NOT REQUIRE HACKING YOUR SAVE AT ALL.

This is not something that will get anyone banned from Xbox live.

I actually read about this on the official Bethblog. They posted information about this working.

So for any XBOX 360 users out there who do not know about this, then take advantage of it.

I own skyrim on PC and 360 love them both. Mods are great. But vanilla is ok too. Also 360 gets DLC first. That's a big advantage. The save file thing is very useful as well

I was a little apprehensive about what this thread would contain, but that's some really useful info there! Nice to know, maybe my Orc can get the windhelm and solitude houses after all :)

If you enjoy cheating to make an uber-godlike character, go right ahead. It's your game and your life.

My opinion is that doing what you do destroys the game. I would never recommend that any XBox owner buy a second copy of the game purely for the purposes of exploiting console commands. There are a dozen better reasons to own the game on PC.

Using the PC JUST to make your character god-like is pointless. You don't need the PC to do that....

You can! I have a 300 dollar "Wal-Mart" Compaq desktop.

I bought a regular copy of Skyrim for PC for 30 dollars used.

The game runs extremely slow on my PC, and the graphics card cannot support the game, but that doesn't matter!

All you have to be able to do is load your game up, then press one button to open the console, then type in all of the console codes for the items you want.

Or hit the showracemenu to edit your character.

Use the player.advskill command to increase your skills, whatever you want.

When you are done, just save your game, then move it back to the 360 and you are done.

It does not even really require playing the game on PC. Just loading, and pressing a few buttons.

It is incredible having Ancient Nord Armor at level 1 before even leaving Helgen!

Ulfric's clothing set, adept robes, rocksplinter, tons more.

I never said [censored] about cheating and making a god character.

THIS CAN ALSO BE USEFUL IF YOU WANT TO SIMPLY CHANGE YOUR HAIRSTYLE mid game, and you are on 360 and do not have the options otherwise.

STOP RANDOMLY FLAMING FOR NO REASON.

You don't even know what you're talking about.

That makes 2 idiots, and counting, who, for some reason, PUT WORDS INTO MY MOUTH.

I never said this was for cheating and making a "god" character.

Where did I say that?

I DO NOT FEEL LIKE I HAVE A GOD CHARACTER, when I decide, mid game, that I want to change, my war paint, hair style, and face / skin tone and transfer my save to my PC for 5 minutes to make the changes.

I also don't see how it is a god cheat, to use the console to give myself some cool robes, that were otherwise unobtainable on 360.

STOP FLAMING for no reason. Know what you are talking about!

Also, most people own computers, or laptops.

My point about the 300 dollar wal mart desktop was the point that you do not have to have an expensive gaming PC for it to work.

I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT USING THIS TO CHEAT INTO A GOD CHARACTER.

I do not think this works on ps3. I wouldn't know. I do not own one.

Bethblog specifically says it works for 360 save files.

To answer about achievements, yes.

The achivement for "have 100,000 gold worked."

I opened the console and gave myself 99,999 gold, then loaded my game on 360, looted 6 gold from a chest, and the achievement unlocked just fine.

Dear troll face flamer,

You seriously do not own a computer or a laptop?

Are you 13 years old, still getting allowance from mom and dad?

No, I don't recommend buying a computer for this.

If you already have a computer, then take advantage of it.

This is disengenuous. Your opening post was not about hairstyles.

This is what you wrote in your original post: " I open the console, edit my character, add any and ALL UNOBTAINABLE ITEMS, beef up my stats, etc. All of the items that are impossible to obtain without use of console commands are now in my inventory. "

For anyone on 360 reading this, who would like instructions, or a simple step-by-step walkthrough on how this is done, and you couldn't find it on the Bethblog, then send me a PM and I will help you.

I do not have anything else to say.

If you can find your way through all of the random, unintelligible flaming that doesn't make any sense,

Read my comments about how this is NOT about making a level 81 god character.

This is about having the freedom to use the console commands ANY WAY YOU CHOOSE.

From as little as having the freedom to edit your character mid game without having to lose progress or start over,

To giving yourself a unique robe (like adept robes) which were otherwise impossible to obtain on 360.

It is up to you.

I'm out.

Yes, i own a PC and xbox with skyrim for both but i never would cheat, but i do suspect that you are the 13 year old not me.

I will agree with you there i just think it is stupid and to much work just to get more gold in a game where it is incredibly easy to get money, or same with Weapons/Armour. Just my opinion though
