Everycopy is broken when you get far enough into the game.

My save file is about 8MB and I've played 36 hours so far. I thought it was weird how the save file grew... at just 12 hours it was already at almost 5MB.

No significant lag.. it does lag occasionally in the outside world and crowded areas like Whiterun, but nothing gamebreaking or really distracting at all. If it does lag, it usually doesn't last long.

Maybe it'll get worse as the save file gets bigger, but so far no problems, and hopefully it stays that way.

@Iggy Yea Riften is a technical mess. Inside the city isn't that bad for me, but outside is atrocious.

Just finished playing through the main quest. Only 60 hours logged in. Ran in to a few bugs that really weren't that big of deals. My PSN ID is Mordaith. It is a great game. Had a lot of fun playing through the first time. Looking forward to playing again with my second character.

As for lag, I only remember having to quit out to get rid of the lag maybe twice. My save game file was 14 mb.

Honestly, I really don't know what everyone is complaining about.

I am 65 hours into the game and my game save file size is just over 7.5 mb. Is it playable... yes and no. If I roam the countryside, especially at night, things aren't too bad. However, if I enter a city, like Whiterun for instance, WOW! The game gets the worst case of the visual hiccups I think I've EVER seen! If this game were a person, you couldn't even carry on a conversation with him thanks to amount of horrible stuttering. At night, it's still bad, but actually seems to improve a LITTLE bit. For me, dungeons and caves aren't too bad. But it really stinks that if I want to play anymore, I pretty much have to avoid any of the citites! 45-50 hours in, I still wasn't having a problem, although I was keeping an eye on my file save continuously growing. I hit 50 hours and over 6mb file, and things started to slowly but surely fall apart. Like I said, I'm still playing, doing some of the Misc quests, side quests, exploring etc. But I HAVE to avoid the cities. I hope and pray it gets fixed. This is one incredible game. But if I can't play it, then it's worthless!

Don't let it get to you, MOST people are having problems, SOME people have mamaged work-arounds or spent cash to get it working.

I'm at over 40 hours play with a save file at 6.2Mb and starting to see frame jitter but I have only completed 4 main story quests so I expect this to get worse.

As it does I will use some of the tips like save file shrinking etc to get an improvement if possible and wait for the patch while playing something else if it's not working for me.

I'm not an apologist, nor do I expect my copy to be perfect, but I am at 55 hours in, level 28, 6.3 GB save file with a new PS3. and have yet to see an issue. I have noticed quite a bit of sound cutting out on my headphones, but I assumed that was a headphone issue. The one thing that might be different though, is I have yet to start the main quest. After the intial dragon run in, I have yet to pursue that quest line, so that could be a factor.

6.3gb? I hope you mean mb. My savefile is 14mb and after around an hour of playtime it turns into a slideshow. Started getting bad at around the 9mb mark and has been getting worse with every mb. I've just completed the main quest, and have completed the guilds and war quests. Got some sidequests and misc stuff left. Once I hit level 50 I might actually sell it while I can still get something for it. As I still have my original copy of Oblivion that should put into perspective just how annoyed I am with Bethesda.

^^ Pretty much the same here, haven't yet been affected by the bug at nearly 8mb and about 60 hours in (320 PS3 Slim), but I haven't even got to the part of the MQ that spawns dragons. I am planning to leave the MQ alone until after the patch. If the patch doesn't do what it is supposed to, I may even leave the mq alone indefinitely. I am having enough fun with guild/side quests & exploring to last me some time. It sounds like dragons aren't really much of a challenge anyway, so other than shouts, it doesn't sound like I am missing much. Kind of svcks but it is better than not being able to play at all.

I do think several unaffected people are watching this sub forum for the same reason I am. Not because they/we don't think it is true, but rather are worried about the bug kicking in, or even hoping a little bit that there is a way to avoid it all together. Obviously this is a real problem, which is why it makes sense to keep an eye on what is going on with it. Every time I play I am a little bit nervous this will happen to me.

I'm not having an extreme amount of issues frame rate wise, yet.. But I can tell I soon will because I am just about to reach a 10kb save file.

My PSN ID is Reaper90876787
Yes, I know it is awful.. I wish I could change it.. If only my brother didn't make the name and I did. D:

Proof that it is cripple free? What do you want, multiple screenshots of my playtime along with long videos of the performance levels? Why would anyone lie and say their game isn't acting up when it is? Mine is fine at around 60 hours, but I don't doubt that people are also having issues. I don't need proof to believe there are people having issues, why would you need proof to believe that people aren't having issues?....yet anyway.

You're proof is on YouTube. Tons of videos showing off this lag fest. Shame Beth is too busy in Microsoft's bed sheets to care right now.

I love that logic - "Proof that YOUR game is crap is available by watching a video of somebody else experiencing a bug."

Yeah, that's not at all how it works. Believe it or not (like it or not) some people aren't having any major issues with Skyrim at all. Just because some people are absolutely does not (despite the title of this thread) guarantee that every single player will eventually have the same problem.

I'm currently at just over 10 MB on my save file, 52 hours in-game, and while I had a tiny bit of lag a couple of times, it was hardly gamebreaking or anything even significant enough to make me upset. I just took it as a gentle reminder to get up and take a break and when I came back everything was fine again.

I know misery loves company but there's no need to go around calling people who haven't had problems liars.

Just thought I'd chime in here.

My filesize is 10 MB and I've had no problems. I had a single freeze a while back, and it seems like and isolated incident.

I'm playing on the oldest 60 GB, by the way.

I've been playing around 5 hours per day or so since launch, haven't had any serious problems. Couple of weird random glitches and a couple of framerate drops but nothing consistent or at all gamebreaking. Two of my younger brothers also have their own PS3's and they haven't had any serious problems yet, and I have a couple of coworkers who I've been discussing the game with who also haven't had any major issues. I actually don't personally know anybody who has experienced anything particularly severe.

Same here. There are about 6 in my group of friends all playing Skyrim right now. There have been a few odd bugs - nothing game breaking - no lag issues. Save Games range in size from 9ish to 14ish (mine is the 14ish) mb.

I'm sorry to hear that some people are having problems out there, I'm sure Bethesda is doing what they can to fix things up. Games of this complexity are bound to have some things fall through the cracks - and be exposed - after a week or two. I am just happy they are getting the next patch out so soon, I was worried I'd have to wait until after Christmas. But First week of December is good.

Here's my theory. I think its pretty obvious by now to anyone with a bit of technical know how (and common sense) that its a universal problem but I think there are genuinely people out there who don't recognise it in their own games. The lag thing kind of progressively gets worse over the course of many hours play and not everyone has the tech savvy to understand that 1) it shouldn't be happening and 2) its a problem that was caused by the makers of the game.

I think a lot of people who hit 9-12mb in save size and say they have no issues definitely DO have the lagging but are kind of in denial because it happens fairly gradually and they've convinced themselves that the game was always like this and its 'the way its supposed to be'. They've forgotten how smoothly it ran at the beginning. I was kind of the same as I painfully hopped around Whiterun for several hours at a passable but troubling frame rate. And then an absolute slideshow of a dragon attack in Riverwood finally made something click in my head that the game hadn't always ran like this. Thats when I came here.

Regardless of what anyone says I will never believe that everyones PS3 version would not at some point become a laggy mess. That point seems to differ from user to user, some become a nightmare at 6mb (or those people are more sensitive to the gameplay difficulties caused by lag) and some only acknowledge it when the game literally stops and crashes completely at about 15mb (up until that point they're just grimly battling on convincing themselves this lag is 'normal' and unable... and unwilling to really comprehend that what they're seeing is a 'problem'.

I wouldn't be surprised if the same points I've highlighted above will cause those exact people to strongly dispute my theory. Which kind of proves my point.

But there's a patch coming... woo and indeed hoo.
