Evil Children

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 5:18 am

Firstly let me clarify, this is not a thread about killing children, I did not pick up the game and think 'sweet they have kids, lets kill them'

Okay so I brought this up before.. then let it go, because meh.

Low and behold, it happened again - A [censored] child, hiring people to kill me.

This frustrates me. A lot. The character I'm playing is not a happy forgiving character. I'm not one of those players who goes round the world trying to murder entire towns, or even someone who kills with no reason... This character though, is a "ruthless" person, with little regard for life. If it suits him he will kill whoever he needs to, to achieve his goals. He doesnt forgive those who wrong him.

Next minute...

Child hires thugs to kill my character... I get annoyed whine on forums thread gets closed. Character lets them off this time, because he has no choice.

A week later

Same stupid little [censored] kid hires more thugs. The little [censored].

Okay. I Really have no desire to murder kids. I cant put that forward enough. But if you're going to make a game where something can cause you harm - either directly or indirectly - make that thing killable. I dont care if its an evil giant dragon who flies through space destroying worlds, and is super difficuilt, or a pink fluffy bunny with a purple bow round its neck.. if its messing with me I want to be able to mess back. Seriously, really really really want to be able to mess back.

Possible fix? Dont let [censored] little [censored] kids hire murderers to murder you. Edit: Unless you can do the same back.

It would be better if they at least feared you. You could be like "Dont do that again or I'll come back and shout your whole house down"

Okay thats my rant. For the second time.

strange how when one tries to contact the brotherhood he gets ignored until you yourself go in
but apparently as long as they don't chant the chant in a locked house they can hire someone to kil for them

You don't even get to kill Babette, and she's technically not a child.

The whole 'hiring mercenaries' is dumb anyway. That's what bounties are guards are for.

Murder a relative or steal from a relative.

After reading several posts on how 'evil' children are in Skyrim I suddenly remembered something M'aiq the Liar said in OB:

"M'aiq believes the children are our future but he doesn't want them ruining our fun."

I guess that's what we get for wanting them in a game, huh?

:lmao:

Yeah I hope it wont get locked.. I tried to be a lot less.. agressive.. this time..

And yes, the thugs thing is stupid. Especially if your a member of the Imperial army, and obviously quite high ranking since you can order a captain around, then you run away from the thugs into solitude and all the soldiers (who should be under your command) just watch, or leave.

While we're at it, how about we don't allow NPC's that are programmed to be immortal act as witnesses to crimes?

One of my PCs is a ruthless assassin, and I find myself having to save right before I do any job - just in case anyone in the room happens to be immortal or there is a kid around that I didn't notice.

I've had thugs sent after me so many times from people I barely remember even talking to and not even knowing what the hell I did to them. Mostly it just says Penitus Oculatus Agent.

If you can't kill it, it should not be able to be a witness.

I'm completely with the OP. My character is amoral. I don't go out and wantonly cause murder and mayhem, however if someone pisses me off, they are going to get an arrow in the back of the head, along with any witnesses.

Hah yeh, kinda kills your feeling of 'badass dragonborn' when you have to forgive some snotnosed punk. Twice.

Edit, I have to do that in real life often enough, I play a game to get away from this overthetoplyPC society. I know that isn't a word.

there needs to be a "blackjack" in this game for "taking out" essensial npc's with a stealth attack so that we can "leave no witnesses" as they were asleep while we kiled the rest of the room as this solves the leaving witnesses problem altogether.

I say we should have the dialog option of bribing the little kiddies so they can forget what we did.
Give them gold, buy them a dog, something like that.

I must admit, forcing them to watch me kill their family was my "daydream save/reload" bit.

Its the psychotic monster version of "Would you like me to give you a reason to cry"

But seriously.. I had the door shut.. I ate an apple from the fruit bowl in the hotel room I rented from the kids father.. and this warranted a 3 man hit team?

Who do I sue because Bethseda gave me psychological issues about using the complimentary coffee in hotels now?

Also.. Killing Children would get a game banned, but depicting children as people who would instantly find and pay assassins to kill you and indulge in evil summoning rites on the side.. is perfectly cool with the censors?

It was just the kid thing. I've played 63 hours and haven't done the whole "cursed house in Windhelm" thing. Though I keep hearing about it and getting attacked by DB members. And I've only done 5 main story quests, as an off topic statement ;)
