Fable HD remake (New lightin ect)

Post » Wed Jun 05, 2013 5:22 am

so is this a thing now? I mean i knew that publishers were going to try and get consumers to buy the same games multiple times using shady DD, cloud/server verification hosting, but i didn't realize they would be cash grabbing so blatantly as this whole HD remake trend has been proving.

figures that lion head would do it though, since they are incapable of making a good NEW fable game.

 Have you even bothered to read, or look a the screens? It isn't just a HD upgrade, there completely redoing a number of things, such as the graphics, sound, and UI.

and? unless they add even more story line, or new game mechanics it doesn't matter. It is the same exact game with minor acstetic changes, that most games would have available for free in the modding community. not worth paying $60 for the same game.

They figured, since there are modders who do this for free, why not do it themselves and get paid for it! Simples.

You people do realize there's a great many people who don't have access to gaming powered PC's, and cant access your Mods?

And this isn't minor graphical changes, as I said, there re-doing everything.

Seems like it's still going to be the same undercooked gameplay underneath.

Besides, some devs would do it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Witcher_(video_game)#Enhanced_Edition

because graphics are the least important part of the game, so if the only thing that has changed is graphical and audio (ascetics) that is only a minor change to the game.

you'd be doing all the same stuff you had already done in the game. But if that floats your boat, go ahead. Buy the game every ten years. My point is that it is a blatant cash grab trend that publishers have been doing lately.

the mod thing is irrelevant, people who can't afford a gaming laptop probably are too frugal to rebuy their gaming library again at full price.

But Lionhead isn't like CD. And I personally found Fable's gameplay very charming,

That's fair enough. I found it a nice enough game, but pretty average throughout. A button-masher really. That said, I did enjoy my playthrough of TLC.

I've said so before, but Lionhead's last great game was The Movies. Fable never had the same spark (possibly because they weren't very experienced with making any 3D action-adventure games.)

yeah, fable was an awesome game i agree with that. but it isn't worth paying extra money to play it again, when i could just pop in my old disc.

MEH, If I can make fable look much better then fable 3, get the TLC, better sound, better UI, and some other stuff, i'll buy it. (Not for sixty buck though, thirtyish.)

I don't play consoles anymore, so I'll have to stick with the original as well if I decide to play it again that is.. I was disappointed that Fable 2 wasn't made for PC, but I got over it eventually due to other games. I'll just play some of my older games again soon (recently reinstalled MDK 2), along with getting ones I've never played before.

These remakes also let people who missed out on the originals get a chance to play the classics. I for one am very glad Sony released the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus HD collection, as I would never have played them otherwise. The upgraded textures and 60 FPS were gravy.

That bundle initially released for $40 iirc.... I ended up picking up a copy for 12 bucks or something. It was worth it for SotC alone, what a masterpiece that game was.

Yeah, I loved SOTC, I really disliked the other one though.
