I'm looking forward to the soups, stews, and freshly made bread. Beef barley vegetable, ox-tail, potato-leek, chicken of all kinds of soup. Beef stew, fish stew, well, you get the idea. And I'm really looking forward to Stayman/Winesap apples. Although they will last for quite a while, I'm planning on drying a bunch. They make fantastic apple pie, and do nice things to pork roast. It will be nice to have some to use in February.....
