Fallout NV - MA 15+ in Australia

Turkey isn't a member of the European Union. Well not yet anyways. They're a "potential candidate" at the moment, so they wouldn't fall under the copyright laws of the European Union.

All the more reason they would start to crack down on all the piracy. It also explains why they have such a "problem" with it. EU can't touch them, just keep them from joining.

They do however have their own copyright laws, and they are making revisions to comply with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WIPO.

That's nothing. In Japan, video games are apparently not allowed to depict skeletons and skulls. They had to completely redesign the Undead faction in WoW and redesign whole areas of the game for the Japanese release I hear.

The famous People's Republic of General Asian Country, indeed.

Oh thank you merciful Thor.

After the fiasco with Left 4 Dead 2, I was almost certain they'd try something with New Vegas. Still, no six warning on the rating label. I guess that means the Gomorrah casino is Moriarty's Saloon all over again. :(

Perhaps they'll do something like The Saboteur, where there was an unlock code that removed the pasties from the strippers? Specific game content that's unlocked through an electronic age-gate is kind of an interesting concept.

I hope they don't change Gomorrah or any other location just because one country is uptight about it. I don't want another Moriarty's Saloon. I want locations like the Cats Paw and Golden Globes. I am an advlt I want more advlt content. I am not asking for porm or nudity but the game devs say there will be strippers and prostitution. So I am hoping it's more then just paying someone to sleep next to you on top of the covers >.<.

So in short, if one country has a problem with something like six then change it for them. Please don't ruin it for everyone else on the planet.

Like someone said the problem in Australia is one man, it would svck for that one person to effect how the people of every country plays Fallout New Vegas.

Meh, screw Australia! It's just a badly made copy of the GB mixed with the US deserts and other things. Plus, I don't think there's a SINGLE game developer in Australia, so that means in my terms they're in medieval times.

That said, it would be hilarious if the Austrialian censors managed to block from New Vegas, something that's legal in real life there.

For those that don't know, I'm speaking of prostitution.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I thought many countries outside of the US were less restrictive on sixual content, and over here it's opposite. The US seems to be fine with crazy violence, but many countries (Australia, Germany, etc) have a very strict policy on violence.

Of course, i'm only basing this on statements from other people, so i'm probably wrong. But if this is true, then it would more than likely that the US would have a problem with the whole sixual content than other countries.

I did say a problem like six. In Canada most people are happy as long as the game is rated properly in this case rated M with a list of why it's M. That way parents can desided if their kids are mature enough to play it. I can't speak for the states but I bet it's pretty much the same.

Someone a while back posted that the game does not list sixual themes or content on the Australian New Vegas. So he's worried six will be cut from Gomorrah and other places. New Vegas is to have strip clubs.

One country had a problem with Megaton blowing up, so they changed it for that country. Some countries have a problem with blood being red :bonk: so they changed the colour for those countries. If a country has a problem with a strip club in New Vegas and threatens to ban the game, I want Obsidian and Bethesda (because they are publishing it) to change the game (remove the strip clubs) for that one country and not for the rest of the world.

Apparently, the Aussie government have really thick sticks up their back ends when it comes to media content control. Quite strange for a nation with it's origins as being a criminal prison colony for the English.

Reminds me of when they deleted the Riot Zombie off L4D2 because it was "fighting against authority."

We follow a different rating system I believe.

I don't understand why they cut parts out of lots of games for Australia, I remember they cut sleeping with prosttutes in GTA IV but smashing sombody's head in with a baseball bat for $10 wasn't cut.

If one guy in Australia ruins a gaming experience for everyone, i swear I will build a time machine and strangle him to death on his 13th birthday.

Or just go down there and fill his house with snakes and spiders when hes asleep.

or just buy a nuke from the middle east, seems to be the trendy thing now a days.

We have game developers, they just mostly work on kid's platformer games and awful movie tie-ins.

its just one guy who does the ratings for games, he hates games and he wont allow a R ratings for games so he gets them to ban it or cut stuff out , its a really big thing over here right now more and more people are complaining and trying too get the laws change and it seems to be working because some games that would normely be banned or changed are getting through unchanged, like dead rising 2

I have some questions. Who is this all powerful man? How did he get that power? was he given the job by the government? If so you are a democracy vote his ass out or the people that put him in. He's one man and from what I have read people are putting out numbers like 95% of the people want his system gone so why is he still there cutting you games to hell? One man standing in the way of 95% of the population is a tyrant :banghead:

Robert Mclelland. Instead of an ESRB like we have in the U.S. Australia's rating board is overseen by the attorney general's office.

So he's an MP. No wonder you guys can't kick his ass out. Still next time you guys go to the polls make it an issue. Make sure his riding takes alot of heat. If what people are saying 95% of the people want him gone then he will lose. Anyways I don't know how thing are there but it just svcks.

He threatens to ban a game and it effects the world.
