Fallout 1/2 Weapons

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 1:18 pm

I know that many of the older guns were re-named and released in FNV, but I would like to see some of the guns from the older games that didn't make it represented in upcoming DLC.

I happened to love the H&K P90c, for example, and of course the Bozar is considered by many to be the ultimate weapon.

Anyone else have a favorite gun that hasn't shown up in FO3 or FNV yet?

I would like the Bozar back as well as the original M72 gauss rifle, the ones that shoot 2mm ammo. As well as weapons from Tactics like the 50.cal browning machine gun.

I can't think of any particular gun that I used constantly that hasn't been brought over to NV in some form or another...except for the lincoln's repeater, perforator, and infiltrator (i know the all american is somewhat the same, but still). I also miss the swords that were present in FO3. Swords made an assassin build look good, not like a bumper sword, knife or a machete. The main things I miss are all the different variations of armor that seemed to fail to make it over. Like the different Pitt armor, a non gimped stealth armor, ect. I do, speaking of guns, miss the energy weapons that were actually powerful and effective against enemies...I seem to find myself always relying on conventional guns.

Edit: Oh, and like the poster said above me the M72 gauss rifle.

The FO2 Gauss Rifle was my absolute favorite gun (I loved the noise it made when it blew a hole in someone's torso just under the armpit), but I get the impression that we won't see it now that the gauss rifle is considered an energy weapon.

Hmm. I suppose they could do it, but they'd need to either introduce the 2mm ammo or have it use one of the other calibres.

I'd like to see the home made Dart gun again, I use to enjoy taunting Deathclaws in FO3 with it.

Bop shot a dart in a deathclaw leg, Bop now one for your other leg F@#ker, now one in your arm, bam now another for your other arm pr!ck..
Not so powerful and fast now are you!!!
Hmmm, now let me pull out a pissy pistol and pick at you slowly... that for killing me so rudely before :)

That was satisfying for me..lol

Could be two different types of Gauss weapons. I hate how it has become an energy weapon. There could be at least one M72 gauss rifle some where with some ammo boxes full of 2mm ammo. We can then make our own 2mm ammo out of scrap metal.

I like this idea. They changed the names of the original game guns that did show up again so they wouldn't conflict with the Bethesda versions from FO3, so I suppose we could call it the M72 Mass Driver or something. Same projector technology, but powered differently.

Original gauss rifle (and gauss pistol) used 2mm EC rounds not 2mm rounds, so I dont think you could make them from scrap metal.

"The M72 Gauss Rifle is a weapon of German design. It uses 2mm EC magazines containing both batteries and ammunition." "weapons utilizing electromagnetic coils to propel metal slugs at extremely high velocities. They fire an incredibly small 2mm round at speeds just under the speed of light, tearing through just about any armor." EC charge comes from within the gun, 2mm is just metal balls.

The M72 Gauss Rifle was/is a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railgun.

It would be funny if we could fire BBs with a gauss rifle.

It would basically turn joke ammo into a legitimate threat.

Ditto. I would love to see the dart gun being able to equip all those different poisons just like ammo types. Major missed opportunity there.

I am not sure why. Maybe the small metal balls have a special coating that helps react to the Charge inside the weapon. I can't find any real info but it would not be hard to change it so it is just a small metal ball and the EC comes from powercell within the weapon. Its still alot better then removing the 2mm metal ball and making it pure energy weapon. Takes the railgun out of what was a unique weapon idea. Because railguns are still in development and can only fit on ships. So a handheld version is awesome and its an iconic weapon of fallout.

Also http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/MEC_Gauss_minigun would be great.

The Classic, Laser Rifle, M72 Gauss Rifle and 10mm pistol please, the Red Ryder BB Gun would also be a welcome addition, that was crazy powerful in Fallout 1&2.

2mm Energy Charge I believe, The round and power supply were in the same cartilage.
(Also they are coilguns, not railguns ... there is a difference but that is nitpicking a bit)

Bethesda made it a Energy Weapon in Operation:Anchorage, their rational was there was no Sniper Energy Weapon so they made the Gauss Rifle one (by giving it a scope and mark it as a Energy Weapon) and honestly I do not see what is the big deal about it as the round is accelerated to such speeds that will act far more as a energy weapon that as a gun (since its not going to be much influenced by wind and gravity due to its speed).

Also I am going to point out that Gauss weapons were the high end of Small Arms as Pulse weapons were the high end of Energy Weapons, none were scoped, in fact there was no scoped energy weapon until Fallout 3.

SAW (5.55mm LMG)
M60 (7.62 MMG)
Bozar (but changed to be a single shot Sniper rifle instead of a Machine gun.)
