That would have to be a tie between the following comedians:

Chris Farley
Steve Martin
Will Ferrel
Gene Wilder
Richard Pryor
John C. Reilly
Bill Heder
Kristen Wig
Fred Armisen
Kenan Thompson
David Spade (in his prime)
Will Smith
Andy Samburg
Seth MacFarlane

...And that's all I could think of offhand.

I don't really find american comedians funny. It's just not my type of humour.

I could say the same about British comedians, Monty Python being an exception.

It all comes down to what you're used to really. For example, IMO some of Monty Python is really, really good. However the rest of it is generally...meh.

I mean, some people give it a god like status, something I wouldn't personally agree with.

Yeah, I'll probably get stoned for this (not the marijuana kind), but all I have seen of them was Monty Python and the Holy Grail and the Spanish Inquisition bit they had.

Arj Barker, Kenny Everitt, Graham Kennedy sort of counts I suppose.

David Hughes and Sean Micallef are pretty good too, I was sad when his show was cancelled.

quite a few of their sketches were topical and were making light of pop music and politicians that have since been forgotten that even some brittish people would not get the humor of the sketches, while the completely silly and rediculous sketches are the most memorable; such as the dead parrot sketch and the lumberjack song.

Louis C.K., Patton Oswalt, Ricky Gervais, and Christopher Titus. There are a few other big ones, but these were the ones that instantly came to mind.

He can be a bit arrogant, but he was the best part of the Golden Globes.

I'd say in general that it isn't hard to make me laugh, but some of the stand-up people who make me laugh the hardest are:

Richard Pryor
George Carlin
Bill Cosby
Alonzo Bodden
Paula Poundstone
Dave Chappel
Chris Rock
Daniel Tosh
and Robin Williams for good measure

He can be a bit arrogant, but he was the best part of the Golden Globes.
And if not for him, I never would have known what the Golden Globes were. I wish I still didn't, Gervais was tame up there this year.
