Feature removed from Oblivion to Skyrim

Well the camera can be detached from the body I know, I suppose you could hack something up to modify it? Although it'd probably be better that feature be coded in. I suppose we could only hope for a patch.

Wasn't doable in oblivion.

However, I just remembered there was a mod that made the first person camera into a glorified third person camera. Since the first person camera in Skyrim DOES scale properly with setscale, then a similar mod in Skyrim would indeed work properly.

This whole thread is weird, because NO cameras scale correctly for me. setscale 2 and first person makes it look like I'm seeing through my groin.

Skyrim uses the same engine (gameplay) as Fallout 3,
No, no it doesn't.

You're right, I misread that article I was going to quote on.

Still, you missed the point of that post entirely, and took it out of context. That post was implying that if a mod for camera height worked in Fallout 3, doing the same mod in Skyrim would be possible. That is still true, as all Elder Scrolls contruction kits work essentially the same way. I know it's not possible in Oblivion, I have no clue about Fallout.

If it's not possible with the base tools when they come out, it will likely be doable with the scripting extensions that will follow shortly thereafter. Most mods for Bethesda games which did anything remotely fancy with the camera required and utilized the 3rd party script extender for that particular game.

I'm well aware, but even with those extended scripts, it's STILL not possible in Oblivion. Don't believe me? Proove me wrong.
I'm worried that even with those, it'll still not be possible in Skyrim, as it isn't in Oblivion.

Except this is not a mod, this is a console debugging command. All console commands are. It was never intended to be used for actual game mechanics, only to debug them. It does exactly what it needs to do, which is alter the scale of models in a game. It should never do more or less than that.

The fact that the camera adjusted itself back in Oblivion was a coincedence, a fluke if you will. Most likely caused by the camera back then calculating its position relative to the player model. Most likely they took this out in the new engine because it used up too much memory, having to calculate the position each time, and instead gave the camera a fixed position. It could have been completely unrelated to the console command. Because, again, debug commands should only ever do one thing and one thing only, otherwise their debugging purpose is lost.

That was made clear a number of posts ago.....
I'll say it again, That post is about A MOD, that post was NEVER about the console commands.

Off-topic of the Fallout post (Since I apparently need to be as clear as speaking to 5 year olds on these forums): See a post I made a few moments ago about the first person camera mod for oblivion that changes it to a glorified third person camera. Since Skyrim will lower the camera with First Person setscale, if that Oblivion mod was ported to Skyrim, then it stands to reason that if you use setscale in Skyrim to lower your character in first person, then apply said mod, it should work.
