Female VL Looks

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 5:12 am

Well that's because of the "Blood Potions" When ever they turn to stage 2 or more they either drink a potion or feed. Why do you think everyone at Castle Volkihar looks normal?
No matter how much I feed I still look like a monster. And not EVERYONE there looks normal but I see your point haha.

Both of them are pure blood Vampires though. You're turned, that's an easily enough assumed difference. If pretty characters are your thing, the living dead is probably not up your alley I guess.
come on dude everyone know dirty face on female nord is a glitch.

I'm glad the dirt is a glitch, because then hopefully I can look forward to them fixing it. Is that glitch only for Nords? I usually choose the Nord because I prefer their skin, I used to love playing Breton until Skyrim gave them forehead wrinkles. D:

Female vampires don't look dirty from turning into the VL, they get dirty, burnt faces from being a vampire and then loading that save. With patch 1.5 or 1.6 the fix for it doesn't work anymore. It all has to do with the make-up shaders from face creation (eye liner/shadow, blush, etc). This happened to my character so before I became a vampire I went to the face changer and removed all of that and now I don't get a burnt looking face every time I play.

And I hate the wrinkly Breton foreheads too. That's why I always wear a circlet lol.

You're missing out. Still those are Oblivion mods, pretty sad they look better than Skyrims vanilla content. Mods of that calibre and better are out for Skyrim.

In a way, but Not exactly. Here's a simplified way of looking at it: Molag Bal is a lot like Satan from Christian theology. They're perverse beings that simply want to break down whatever mortals and gods have built up (including morals, dignity, freedom) for the sake of it. Molag Bal tries to make mortals give up on morality and ethics (usually by tormenting them) and transgress into mindless violence and hedonism. He raqes and torments his victims so that they'll come to him willingly. He wants submission. He wants to break people down. His quest in oblivion expresses his desire for corruption. He forces you to defile the grave of a hero's wife. The hero swore to the gods he'd remain a pacifist because he was out fighting when his wife died. Bal wants you to torment this man into breaking his vows and literally killing you (Bal ressurects you). Molag Bal got nothing from this but the pleasure of watching a hero fall. He's like Satan meets the Joker, which is why he's the scariest daedra in my opinion. If they ever showed his plane of oblivion, TES would either be pulled from the shelves or be marketed as a horror game.

Sorry I know this is off topic but I wanted to respond to that haha.

Molag Bal is a kinky thang. <.< Yeah this is going off topic now. xD

I made a new char, and she hasn't had the dirty face problem yet and she's a Vampire Lord. Ofc she's a Nord, and I guess the dirty face glitch will happen next time I load my game. FML.

Spoiler
Not as a vampire! You can't even change your hair as a vamp in this vampire themed dlc! Because......Bethesda really doesn't want you to? Oh well, at least we can really end the tyranng of the sun like the trailer said! Oh wait....we can't. That's why they had to change the description on the Xbox live marketplace....

I tried in beta :( im sorry they didnt listen

as for vampires not looking pretty, false. (twilight excluded) vampires through lore are suposed to look handsome and charming (dracula, lestat, etc) they generally dont chase there prey down, they lure them with charm and beauty. thats part of the reason they are scary.

dont confuse vampires with zombies, two different things.

and yes, bethesda dropped the ball with the vampire apearence.

Bram Stoker's version of Dracula had him looking monstrous but passable as a really ugly man. Even in his stage production, Dracula looked monstrous. It wasn't until Hollywood got the rights that they came up with the Bela Lugosi look. The "sauve, good looking" vampire. That's stuck with pop culture because pop culture is fail.
You mean the movie that was originally supposed to be a screenplay based on Bram Stroker's Dracula but they couldn't get the film rights? Let's look at the facts:

1.Vampires in Skyrim can blend into society. They can't realostically do that if they look like corpses
2. Serana, Harkon, and some of the generic vampire enemies look decent enough.
3. In their true form, they already ARE monsters. Seems redundant that their mortal form would HAVE to be just as ugly
4. Not everyone who wants the face changer wants to he prettier. Some want to change their hair. Some want to look SCARIER.

The only vampires that blend in with society are the Cyrodillic clan, and the other clans we have not seen yet.

Actually, according to lore there are many strains of vampirism that can blend in, like the ones in Valenwood. And do you really think people knew everything about every vampire clan 200 years ago? Even now? Of course people wouldnt know volkihars can blend in. They've only seen them in their true form.

I don't know, I thought the whole LED eyes thing would be a dead give away that the person is a vampire...but what do I know?
And no. That's not true. Vampires have taken different forms in different folklore. In European folklore they're demons who possess the recently dead. Therefore they haven't even decomposed yet. This is because people were buried before they died without the buriers knowing, so they saw "dead" people walking around and screamed "VAMPIRE"!

Dracula is traditionally portrayed as a charming, handsome man who seduces his victims.

In Eastern European folklore they are evil spirits that svck your life force. They didn't really need blood, they were also blamed for the causing of disease which was used to "drain the life force".

The burned face glitch can be fixed by transforming into a Vampire Lord and then Reverting Form. This happened on my female Breton, then I transformed and she went back to looking pretty again!.

Apperently the dawnguard is too stupid to know you're a vampire. And wouldnt the same be true about the fanged, red eyed cyrodiil vamps? They blended in pretty well. And yes other vampires can blend in. In fact the only vampires we know for sure cannot blend in are the ones of morrowind (and maybe the illiac bay? Haven't plaued daggerfall in a while). So maybe in eastern europe they're portrayed differently, but I was trying to get across the fact that there's a lot of OTHER folklore and inspiration to draw from. Also, Unlike the vampires of Eastern European folklore, which are portrayed as repulsive, corpse-like creatures, Dracula exudes a veneer of aristocratic charm.

Dracula does, and that's why he passes as human...until of course Van Helsing comes in and goes "Nein! Dat iz most azzuredly a vampire!" (yes I know I went overboard in portraying the accent in text).

The best way to create vampires for a game such as this is to create your own folklore and stick to it. Granted, the way they worded the Volkihar vampires makes it difficult to be done in game (to a certain degree) but the way they were done pre-Dawnguard was pretty much a pretty version of the Oblivion vampires. I commented to a friend who was enraged about this by saying "People complained that the Oblivion vampires were ugly, Bethesda listened and made them not ugly. That is why the vampires look like they do". Which honestly wouldn't surprise me, and of course it's a reason for vampire fans to get Dawnguard. Great marketing ploy "Hey guys, you know how we kind of screwed up with Vampires in vanilla Skyrim? Guess what, in Dawnguard we "fixed" that! BUY IT NOW!!!!"

Of course I'm just being facetious, but I really wouldn't be surprised if that was the reasoning...

Anyone know or can explain the deal with the red line down the face thing? I look at it more and more and hope it's a buggy texture or something. :\

As far as I know it was intended, but some people say it's supposed to go away after you feed (not reliable information).

I really didnt like how my character looked either ... eye bags ... bleeding nose... wrinkles... shes a Breton ... So made a Wood Elf to play Vampire Lord and she looks pretty okay i think :) ... To me they did a bad job on the vampire look anyway, but i gues it really has to do with what you see as a real vampire .. A horrific creature of the night or a seductive beautiful bloodsvcker... Im glad they didnt add glitter in the sunlight anyway :P

Hmmm.... When can i post links? .. Sorry, new here.. wanted to post a link to a picture. Oh well
