MY textures are definatly better, by default most cards set it to high may want to try ultra most 400 series nvidia and higher cna run that with any quad core.

On the phenom II X4 BE with a nvidia 480gtx OC it runs on ultra fine, i bumped it down after seeign your pics and textures are still better when zoomed.

CHeck card settings. Make sure certain on on application settings and set within the game, at time cards over run and will load default low end textures which may be the case. I also noticed surroundign textures don't seem right either from thsoe screen shots.

The worst textures I've seen so far are on.. (spoilers)

Spoiler
The Clavicus Vile shrine. You can literally see the pixelation. It looks like something out of Minecraft.

Hmm my game looks better than that. Are your drivers updated?

Updated them from steam not 2 hours ago

Friends don't let friends use AMD.

It shouldn't matter what brand you use, this was the card I wanted so I bought it, and it should be way more than what you need to run the game.

Sorry to tell yea this but if you bought a TES game for the graphics you went wrong.

I bought and completed both Morrowind and Oblivion and all of thier respective DLC's, I know what to expect from a TES game. But as stated in my first post, graphics like this really break the game

As long as you don't zoom in the textures are acceptable. Why you expect a graphical powerhouse in a vanilla version of TES game I will never know.

I don't expect a graphical powerhouse, just something that looks like it's been released in 2011, not a PS2 looking game (metaphor not literally)
Again i didn't zoom in on any of the textures, thats the standard view, and the picture of the dress, that's right after i finish talking to her.

I pre-loaded this from steam, should i get rid of it and re-download it? start from fresh?
i changed the graphics down to low, then back up to ultra (with restarts in between) and it didn't make the slightest difference.

Also can someone post pictures of the same NPC's at thier graphics setting so i know for sure it isn;t the game?

Cheers all.

On non vital NPC's yes textures are like that (Ultra settings PC user here), along with many other minor objects around the world.

Also dont look at snow covered stones (the barrow area near the first town) if you dont like ugly textures....

Graphics on the 360 are beautiful. No idea why there were so many complaints.

There's definitely something wrong with your graphics settings or drivers. Try updating your drivers or restoring your driver's settings to the default.

Pros and Cons of a PC. Your game could either look WAAY better than console, or worst. I have this on PS3 and my textures dont even look like that.

If you want to look at pretty pictures, look at a freaking picture. If you want to play an amazing sandbox-rpg, then quit staring at the pixels and play the flaming game.

to be honest it looks like your mitmap level of detail is set to performance and not quality. try going into AMD Catalyst Control and make sure that everyting is set to quality/high quality.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is why you don't flash your cards or unlock cores in your CPUs. You break things. Amen.

It doesn't look that bad, even for consoles.

Yes, it does. Some of the textures are not bad close up, but most are horrendous.

And it's not a mip-map level thing or whatever. The source textures are low-res and have no place in a 2011 title.

It's obvious this guy is having issues, those textures in his screenshots are not the full resolution textures. http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/3046/screenshot6u.jpg vs http://i.imgur.com/M4StV.jpg.

Here is a screenshot showing a closeup of a wall texture that's I've just taken:

http://satanspetpenguin.com/Screenshot8.jpg

As you can see, no where near as bad as any in the OP. He's clearly lowered the details on purpose or changed something in his control panel by mistake. Such as lowering the detail from Quality to Performance.

Not trying to flame the game or anything,

But did I really pay £40 for a game that looks like this? (fullscreen them to view it at my ingame resolution):

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/52/screenshot7ry.jpg
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/406/screenshot6u.jpg
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/853/screenshot5nm.jpg
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/508/screenshot4mc.jpg
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/535/screenshot3mi.jpg
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/810/screenshot2pg.jpg

I've got everything on the highest setting, full AA, full AF, full draw distances on everything, and running at 1920x1080 on a 40" tv
And it still looks like this?? Even 8ft away it looks bad.
I know it;s more about the gameplay than the graphics, but in a game where you're supposed to be immersed, this really breaks it.

Don't even get me started about the animations and crap interface on the PC.

AMD Phenom 2 550 BE 3.1GHz (unlocked to quad core), AMD HD6950 2GB (flashed to 6970), 8GB 1066MHz RAM, Windows 7 64bit.

Does it look like that on a monitor ? could be the 40" TV . Just a thought.....

I have a Geforce gtx 590 and i play on Ultra settings and yes, the textures are blurry. Just compare them to The Witchers 2 textures and you will cry.
