Finding Daedric loot TO rare?

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 4:32 pm

I really think smithing is overpowered and I find finding my own gear as loot is far more entertaining. But I cant find ANY daedric loot. Cave after cave after freakin cave and I havnt found a single weapon yet.

I feel like its so rare that the only weapon im going to ever find is going to be somthing unsuited for my character.... thats what bugs me the most. If it takes me 10 hours to find a warhammer, when I need 2 daedric swords... If I wasnt stuck on consoles for this TES game I just pop open the contruction set (when it comes out) and change the level lists.

Do you think bethesda should have increased find rates for daedric (and dragonbone) items as an official patch?

In OB, people howled about it being so common.

Personally, with all the churls, etc running amok I figured it wasn't so bad, logically.

In Skyrim, ain't been many of them cats running around on their own dime for a while, so rarity is about right, for me. But personally I don't believe that we should be able to create it ourselves at all

it really was way to common in oblivion, but oblivion shops dint sell anything better than orchish. in skyrim the instant you reach level 36 ebony armor and weapons show up in shops. i think the worst part about it all is how ebony weapons look TERRIBLE =p so im stuck with them to hours looking for daedric

No, absolutely not.
It should be extremely rare, possibly even rarer than it is now.

You can always use the Atronach Forge.

Morrowind had daedric shrines you could happen across, and so did Oblivion for that matter. I have not seen that in Skyrim. So it stands to reason that daedric gear would be pretty rare.

Well as you point out making it is better so......i guess no. Well in oblivion everything was leveled and everything wore glass and daedric armor, so they made it more difficult to promote smithing I guess???

Didn't know that about shops; I'm level 44 on one character but he doesn't buy weapons, he makes 'em

I agree with the ebony looking very meh.

In my opinion, the best looking weapon in TES is the Daedric Claymore in Morrowind :mohawk:

skyrim is suppose to be a HEALTH rpg, not an mmo where its takes me months to get a weapons o.O. i think its rarity is disproportionate to the other loot in the game, and thats not even counting smithing......

If I might be granted the opportunity to take out my old man stick and reminisce about Morrowind, I might remind you that there was only one of each piece of daedric armor in the game (technically 2 if you felt like murdering a char important in the main quest), and some pieces didn't even exist until the expansions were released. Trust me, daedric items are easier to come by in Skyrim than they ever were in Morrowind, you've got it easy. Kids these days.. :spotted owl:

It should be rare and it should be just as difficult to find the materials to craft the armor. Crafting should not replace high end loot in this game.

Daedric items SHOULD be rare. 200 years after the Oblivion Crisis, lore wise, they WOULD be. As a Civilian in Tamriel who'd want to hold onto a Daedric item?

Imagine the stories!

'Don't bring THAT in here! Are you TRYING to invite the Daedra into our Home?! I heard that Gylfi down the road found a Daedric axe, and a gate to Oblivion opened right up in the middle of her Kitchen!!!'

That you can craft them yourself is fine. But finding them lying around willy nilly... No.

I agree with the majority of the people on this thread. Daedric armour is I think the best armour in the game, so it is only logical to keep the best weapons and armour for those rare finds. But then again in terms of forging, you do not have to forge it if you don't want to. I personally find it fun to dungeon dive and try and find some cool weapons.

Well if its loot or you made it, legendary daedric sword with complete skill tree is nevertheless BOSS.

I've had the one chest (in the training room) spit daedric items out as well.

I think there should just be a smith you could take things to to craft and improve your weapons just not as much if you were to do it yourself because honestly I think the game forces you into smithing.

Compared to what......I think they look alot better then the plastic toy ebony weapons they tried to pass off to us in Oblivion. In OB they looked like plastic wooden sticks painted black and dull. Looked like something a couple kids would fashion out of tree branches to play in the street.

@OP As for the rareity of Daedric, I like it. In Morrowind it took awhile and some hunting to find a full set of it. In Oblivion I could kill half the bandits after level 20 and have numerous sets.

No such thing as to rare, or even too rare. Daedric stuff is nigh on the best gear in the game. Also it's ridiculous how easy it is to obtain it by smithing.

Nah it doesn't, it's useful but only minmax players are forced to. The weapons do well enough even if you don't enhance them, this is not a difficult game which requires you to have the best gear all the time.

Heck you don't even need to use armour as long as your block skill is nice and high. I tried taking all my armour off and just used a shield, didn't have any problems.
