Finished the Dark Brotherhood quest line.

I didn't drop a statue on the bride, I sniped her with an arrow and ran like hell. The quest didn't specify a method of killing her, only offered a bonus if it was while she addressed her guests, so no, it was not a "clone" or "exactly alike". Even if it had been the same, that wouldn't exactly make it more memorable or interesting this time around, would it? My point stands.

Their Emperor didn't die at dinner, either. It was a double. After you kill him later in the plot, people do indeed remark on it quite a lot.

Talk to your associates on each contract. Babette says there is a statue that looks like it will fall above her balcony.

I am glad that they all died because they were not proffesional assassins anymore like they were in OB. They were just thugs in skyrim and they did not even listen to the nightmother like the DB is supposed to. I hate though that at the end when you complete every quest the night mother gives you random pointless missions of
1. get contract for night mother
2. fast travel to city and talk to contact
3. kill target
4 fast travel back to sancuary
5. repeat
I know how you feel, when I got done with it I just slade everyone and try to start in a different guild because it was so boring there.

Yes, but having the option to do something is not the same as getting a bonus for doing so. I did the quest my way, and as I said, being a copy of a previous quest wouldn't exactly make it more interesting anyways. Pay attention.

Sure, you get a bunch of trivial remarks, mostly from the guards. But is that sufficient? You just killed the Emperor of Tamriel in Skyrim - a province that is in the throes of civil war because it's essentially trying to secede from the Empire. And you have the Thalmor sitting there and watching all of this. Killing the Emperor should have a HUGE effect on the game world. It is a questline worthy of a deep and detailed expansion pack, and not just a poorly thought out faction storyline that goes nowhere.

I was only sad the the shadow scale died...He was Badass....But screw the rest of them....Hated that vampire brat talking about pedophillies and such....

I pretty much feel the same way as this. The Argonian was pretty cool. Gabriella was okay too, but the other ones were annoying.

Yeah, choice is good. Plus, why did you put that in a spoiler tag? I have a warning in the title.
To prevent things like:
Because probably not everyone at this point has realized that the DB quest can be approached from two different sides... ;)
Thanks for ruining that one for me. Don't complain about the lack of tags then not use them yourself... :spotted owl:

Which is why I put the warning in the title. If people are too lazy to read it they deserve to be spoiled.

This board is 2/3rds NOT spoilers.

As for the storyline, I think it's epic that we got to kill a really important person. I enjoyed it.

I think the story would have been more entertaining if you had to disguise yourself as a Guard and assassinate the Emperor while escorting him across a GIANT bridge ooooor, you had to snipe him from far far away with an arrow. Yeaaah!

For being in the position to kill such an important figure as the emperor, I felt the final quest was rather short and stale. Also, I thought it was kind of lame when you attack Commander Maro and the guards don't react whatsoever. The whole "finish out the contract" thing just seems like it was thrown in as an afterthought.

Did anybody actually let Cicero (Cisero?) live? If you do he basically acts like the adoring fan at the end of the quest line. Not sure if he's killable yet. I never made him my companion so I don't know.

I let him live - I had the Spectral Assassin with me and Lucien kept saying things about "a disruption in the void" and that "the Dread Father does not want this". Figured something was up, and that I could kill Cicero later anyways. Glad I went the way I did, now.

Never knew you could let him live...when I saw him hunched over I just fired my bow with a poison tipped arrow.

His armor is actually quite good though:
Boots - Wearer is muffled and moves silently
Clothes - Prices are 20% better. One-handed attacks do 20% more damage.
Gloves - Double sneak attack damage with one-handed weapons.
Hat - Sneaking is 35% better.

Granted they look like crap - he is a jester after all. My assassinations have been all the more deadly now.

That's exactly my reason too. Lucien's always right in the end.
