Thought we had a thread like this somewhere..probably lost to the bowels of time now though.

I have that set! Right now I'm currently on the special features of The Two Towers, though that was 2 months ago and I haven't gotten back to watching it..so who knows when I'll finish the entire thing. At 15+ hours a "movie" it's hard to watch them all fast.

""= I include the special features as part of the movie.

Anyways, this weekend was a movie weekend for me..I got caught up on some new releases.

The Green Lantern- Probably my favorite, not sure why..Blake Lively is hot most likely. But yeah all around decent movie.
Conan The Barbarian- Silly but entertaining.
Cowboys and Aliens- I heard it was bad, I was glad to find out that it really wasn't. It was interesting and kinda had a D9 feel to it in a way.
Hangover 2- Somewhat funny, much like the first. Thought it was a pretty good sequel for what it was.
30 Minutes or Less- Somewhat funny, not as much as I'd like but okay. Entertaining. Worth a watch at least.

This weekend I hope to go see the new Sherlock Holmes movie and might pick up Harry Potter DH 1 and 2 and the latest Pirates movie.

Last movie I watched was New Year's Eve and it was pretty bad. It had maybe 2-3 laugh out loud moments.

My girlfriend enjoyed it though, which was to be expected.

I'm pretty sure you've heard this before ( :sadvaultboy: ) but you really do not have to write a full sentence in your topic title.

That said, I watched Schindler's List again yesterday. It was beautiful.

Recently?

The Godfather - Still love this, the finale in particular. Yet still the book is far better.
In the Mood for Love - Every time I watch this I notice something new.
The Thin Red Line - Still sends me to sleep. So why on earth do I want to see the original 5 hour plus cut?

from the wiki

Spoiler
Cutter accompanies Angier to an abandoned building filled with tanks, and helps him store Tesla's machine. Cutter leaves, silently acknowledging the arrival of a very-much-alive Borden, who shoots Angier. As Angier lies dying, Borden reveals that he was actually two identical twins who lived as Fallon and Alfred, alternating between each role.

One twin (the one still alive) was the husband of Sarah and father to daughter Jess, and loved Sarah more than the magic; the other was in love with Olivia. They played one individual in life and in the illusions. Borden reminds Angier of a Chinese magician they saw together years ago who pretended to have a limp when ever he was in public so he could use this to conceal his methods on stage and that the way he lived his life was the actual illusion.

Borden tells Angier his devotion to the illusion was such that he and his twin were willing to live the same life in order to conceal their methods.

Angier's method is also revealed: During the illusion, the machine created a duplicate of Angier, with one falling through a trap door into a locked tank and drowning, and the other being teleported to the balcony. This was always Angier's intention to frame Borden for his murder as he knew sooner or later Borden would try and discover the secret to the trick by sneaking backstage to be caught watching Angier drowning.
Borden leaves Angier to die as a fire consumes the building. Afterwards, Cutter reunites Borden with his daughter. A final shot shows that each tank in the abandoned building contained a drowned Angier.

I think it's just impossible for Chris Nolan to make a bad movie. The Prestige is one of his best.

Last movie I watched was the new muppets movie. It was one of the best movies I've seen all year! Very funny without six, beer, drugs and didn't have any overly used crass humor.

I watched The NeverEnding Story with my brother and his girlfriend last week. It was a lot worse than I was expecting, with some unintentionally hilarious scenes that made it worth the watch.

So far Neil Gaiman's books are surprisingly good movies, I thought Stardust was amazing. The Prestige is also one of the greatest films ever and truly deserves to be seen.

A movie I watched recently is Serenity for probably the ninth time. It's my fifth favourite movie ever.

Recently saw The Deer Hunter and Machete, as well as several old Hong Kong action movies (which is sort of my film forte [not that I'm seriously expert or anything]): Encounters of the Spooky Kind, The Protector(The Jackie Chan one, not the Tony Jaa one, although I did watch the American cut and not the HK cut), Fantasy Mission Force (this movie features Jackie Chan in a recurring cameo role which he did as a favor to one of the other actors. This is one of the most bizarre "so bad it's good" movies I've ever seen.)

I'm finding it fairly difficult to think of two more opposite movies then the Deer Hunter and Machete.
