first review (cvg)

I'm not really expecting the aggregate to be this high (I hope I'm wrong, since it'd hugely benefit the game though). Immersive sims always have a good number of reviewers who are left scratching their heads.
Good point, although Dark Souls seems to have a narrow appeal and it appears to have captivated everyone (haven't played it), so you might be surprised.

I am looking forward to what RPS and Sneaky Bastards think about it though. I know they're in the proper headspace to review this kind of game.

I agree. Sneaky Bastards in particular since they showed they can judge a game like this from their Mark of the Ninja review. Can't wait to see how they liked the game.

Awesome score, only care about the scored and pros and cons don't watch any review videos they always have minor spoilers.

Alright! Geez!

Although I'm buying Dishonored first, so Dark Souls can wait on my wishlist for another month.

I expect the game to get low 90's if people do get the game and the unorthodox mechanics and high 70's if it turns out to be a misunderstood gem.

And let that be a lesson to you!

But in all seriousness(spell), speaking as a guy who is prone to rage quits, it's still damn fun game.

I feel like, both in terms of sales and critical reception, Dishonored and Demon's Souls will have a lot in common. Both spend their pre-release and launches cruising under the radar until high reviews, word of mouth and a GOTY or two make them games that everyone feels compelled to try.

Both refuse to compromise their vision for the sake of what's popular in the medium today which, when done well, tends to be the mark of generation-defining games.

I have to agree with the other peeps, the cons seem like pros in my book.
That's what I meant. I just worded my post badly.

I don't trust reviews anymore, even from sources others might find reliable. I always prefer to form my own opinion, since there's been far too many cases
where I've thouroughly enjoyed a game, and then found out that it had all those bad reviews and apparently it svcks.

Well, sometimes you just find a reviewer with whom you agree on most games, in my case it is angry joe(he is also pretty funny).

I hope you find your own special review buddy :)

Same here :)

For me its ZeitgeistReview on youtube. Even when he doesn't like a game I like I can't help but feel his reviews were fair.
