Will this cause any issues if the official patch arrives?

I had the same problem. I turned off AA and set my shadows to High instead of Ultra and my flames started showing up just fine.

You know, from all the game-play vids shown prior to release, all the excellent hype and great word of mouth, I honestly expected Skyrimjob to be a Lot Less Buggy than it actually is as far as graphics go. It's like when it came to making sure the graphical options all worked for all the various video cards and drivers the QA guy took the week off. Whoever was in charge of that dropped the ball big time and needs to be dragged out into the street and beaten within an inch of his life. Too harsh? Naaaaa.....LoL.
