For all the roleplayers!

Those that in fact like to RP and plan on doing so ingame well, you could post it here!

Preferably with either a (hopefully small) bio or link?

I co-run the Morag Tong RP guild. We are heavy "practical" role-players which is a sub-set of role-play that places equal importance on in-game actions as it does on in-game talk. Basically, "practical RP" means everything your character "does" should be considered, as much as is possible, In-Character. This means no emote fighting (if you need to fight someone for RP purposes, use the in-game mechanics like dueling), no doing quests your character finds morally objectionable, no separating PvP or PvE from RP, etc. There's more to it than that but those are the very basics.

For more information: http://themoragtong.com/about

As for my personal character bio, it can be found here: http://teso-rp.com/forum/m/9324623/viewthread/6702988-dunmer-reymas-samarys

Sorry if this comes across as advertising, it's not intended to be, but we do like to encourage other RPrs and RP guilds to try out practical RP as it can be a LOT more rewarding in our experience than traditional RP.

As for the RP community of ESO, I predict it will be one of the largest, most interesting we've seen since LOTRO and SWG, possibly even surpassing those two, as long as the devs do what they can to support it.

Nice Capitol. I consider myself a Lore Player in that I try to immerse myself in the game world as much as I can. I let motivations for my character develop based on game experience rather than preconceived ideas to suit some template. And I try and avoid letting the math get in the way of fun. But I do not role play in a way that a lot of people think of it. I might yell DIE SCUM as I jump someone out harvesting nodes but I never emote /drink at the inn or go to ingame social outings.

I like to RP. Unfortunately though with the way TESO is designed, I'm not sure my usual character concepts will work (my Argonian wouldn't be caught dead helping the Dunmer, and my Khajiit wouldn't want to help the Dominion). I'll need to wait until I can actually play it to see what kind of role-playing opportunities there are. I'm also not very experienced MMO RPing, as I mostly play single-player games.

I really hope Zenimax uses our in game names in chat instead of handles like Neverwinter Online does because handles often ruin RP completely. No where in my account creation for Neverwinter did it say that I would be using a Handle and not my in game name and my Handle read....Elember777 which basically ruins RP completely because now I have a non lore friendly name. Star Trek Online and Neverwinter both do this and I hate it with a passion and no you can't change your handle..

Its hard to RP when they only give you 4 classes in the game, if only I could name my own class like in the previous elder scrolls games :P

I wonder what launch day will be like...today I tried to login to Neverwinter and its launch day for that MMO and I started out at about #7700 in the queue and it was going down pretty fast I think it was at about 5K and then suddenly it jumped to 35K and I decided today was not a good day to try Neverwinter....lol

I am in the proccess or writting up my character bio and a small background story along with it. I wont post her name yet as I don't wish for someone to steal it from me. All I will say is she will be a Dunmer Morag Tong assassin of noble birth who was sold into slavery near the start of the fight for the White Tower and the Imperial city.

My style of RP is in game through my character and their actions as well as how they view the world they are in. I as a player may know a troll doesn't like fire, but its something she will have to read about during her travels. I also take in game events such as guild dungeon runs and pvp and write them up as short stories.

A small example of my last pvp fight in Eve Online writen up as a captains log from my characters point of view. http://kiran-starfury.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/yc114-12-28.html I am not that good at writting but I keep trying. I also take in game footage via fraps and edit it together to tell a story of sorts to music.

i will be playing as a distant ancestor of my argonian in skyrim i think i shall go with the name Broken Fang(<-- my name now none of you lot steal it capiche?)

i think part of his story will be that he is an escaped slave who was captured by the armies of the ebonheart pact to fight in the war against cyrodill and the daedra and the other 2 factions vying for control of the empire and in exchange for his service he will be given his freedom.

blue scale comes from a long line of warriors broken fang is just the first of the bloodline to be a warrior and not a slave should be interesting especcially if i meet any dunmer rp'ers.

i shall have to keep a civil tongue in my head when i meet any dunmer fickle creatures they would likely deny me my freedom if i so much as spoken to one without first being spoken to but rest assured i will especcially enjoy slaying dunmer who stray from the ebonheart pact... or maybe i will make my way to the daggerfall pact the first chance i get.

Now thats an idea, a sacred place in Cyrodiil where your not allowed to attack the enemy factions if you do you inccur the wrath of the divines. Could be the only place where the three factions can chat to on another and share stories and some food/drink.

My RP so far has mainly been on my guild forums. You can check the link in the sig and browse through it a bit if you like (the forums are open to view by guests.)

The RP has been incredibly interesting. We have a crazy guy who thinks he's part Dwemer and likes to torture people. An emo vampire wannabe Dunmer. The General (my self) who is anit-slavery during one of the most pro-slavery eras in Morrowind; also, he's a total horn-dog and pervert (women are his weakness.) There is a Nord werewolf as well who is quite hot headed. Some of our newer members are also creating interesting characters.

I say you can browse our RP but it might be confusing for you at first. We have a very open and free form system.

Here's my character bio. Just be forewarned, its written in the style of many TES texts. Ie. its propaganda. I have intentionally left our and in some cases lied about aspects of his past in order to make him more appealing to his audience (the Ebonheart Pact.) The secret details are being slowly leaked into the RP:

Spoiler

BTW...

There are a number of obscure lore easter-eggs in that back story for anyone interested in a little scavanger hunt.

Ahem...Nordjitsu? Is this one of those easter eggs? :P

Not intended. His name didn't receive much thought really. Just picked something Argonian.

Isn't 'morally objectionable' what defines the Morag Tong? :P

Shush...its better this way...

In any case, neat story. I am not really picking up any major easter eggs though. Then again my brain is almost burnt out from flying through 3 essays in the last 24 hours and contemplating Finals...

I do believe you are thinking of our bastard child the Dark Brotherhood. We are a legally sanctioned organization who obeys the laws of the Tribunal, and all we do is blessed by Mephala and AlmSiVi. ;)

But seriously yeah, hehe, but some of our assassins are of pretty high moral standards, aside from the whole murder thing...
