For me Skyrim is Flawless and Polished

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 6:40 pm

Maybe it's time to upgrage to concole.
Pretty much. So far no major bugs for me (crosses fingers) though I did pass someone hovering in the air moving a log some 100 ft from the mill (without the log). I giggled and went on my way.

The fact that I've put 45 hours in in just 6 days speaks to how I feel about this game.

My RPG experience consists of Fallout 2,3, New Vegas, and Oblivion. I was really into strategy games and then got into RPG. Skyrim feels like Age of Mythology turned into an RPG with a better story and huge quality content.

I like that it got rid of atributes, which can make you OP in an RPG, instead you got to work at something if you want to get good at it, which feels more RPG and simpler. It's got a great story, I love fighting for the Stormcloaks and for independence, a lot of the characters really etched in my mind like Cicero and a certain Red Guard member who teaches me a valuable lesson, or the Daedric Lords trying to seduce me into God knows what.

It's got crafting which I obsess over - love the fact I can craft weapons, armor, and cook my own food for that survivalist feel, a wonderful mansion in WinterHold (my favorite city) with a very custamizable house you would only dream in a mod. On and on and on.

It just feels perfect. And the beauty of it in ultra high graphics on my PC, no lag, no bugs.

You did a nice job turning a blind eye or like some one else said you got low expectations. Are you going to call me a genius again? You already called me a genius twice in another thread thank you for acknowledging my superior intellect btw.

I like Skyrim and Bethesda. And been helping defending this forum for the last couple of months (please don't refer to my joined date, I switched user). But I wouldn't go as far as thinking this game is flawless (no offense).
personally, "great" is enough.

ok, genius queen. Do the math. I don't use companions, but lets's do math. Companion + melee = close combat quarters = things get messy in battle. Get a ranged companion you whiner.

No... the whole point I'm making is that your comment that this game is flawless is a flaw in itself. I've seen so many glitches (that usually make me laugh) in this game to know that it is not anywhere near flawless. I had less problems with Fallout 3 and New Vegas than Skyrim tbh.

For instance on bug that really makes me laugh is the flying animals. How many times have you seen them fall out of the sky? Hell, I've loaded a save and had a dragon I have already killed and turned to bones fall from the sky on top of me and it has its body again. Oops... another flaw. I've currently got no body in the game due to the fact that two pieces of clothing don't like each other and make me look like I'm the invisible man.... Hell, I could go on and on listing all the problems I've come across. Flawless means "Without a flaw". Claiming the game is flawless is just asking to be ridiculed.

I'm not whining, just irritated that the game was rushed out before it was properly bug tested. Hell, the getting trapped by your companion bug is so obvious it makes me wonder if it even got put through QA.

Flawless means "Without a flaw". Claiming the game is flawless is just asking to be ridiculed.

Or maybe your looking to ridicule. If my gaming experience had none of what you claimed for playing endless hours since release, how are you to dictate your bugs on my experience?

Maybe I'm lucky, but if I all of a sudden see a dead body twitch, I'm not gonna run around in circles screaming like a little [censored]. parden my french.

Skyrim is a great game, but calling it flawless is a major insult to the majority of people on here, the OP is simply lucky so far.

I suffer from texture problems and quest conflicts, i also notice there are a LOT of things that didnt make the transition from oblivion so in some way it's slightly downgraded but overall im enjoying the game.

These things will be patched eventually so im happy so far, but anyone who says Skyrim is flawless is deluded.

I've had a blast so far playing this game. In fact I have gears 3,batman, mw3 , forza 4 and battlefield 3 all on hold because of this game. Its not perfect but I'm hopefull that things will get fixed. Meanwhile I'm more into this game than any of these recently released heavy hitters. Great job Bethesda!!!

I agree, for me it`s the ultimate gaming experience. I haven`t noticed any flaws and the game feels just awesome. 30 hours played on pc.

Right. To the people insulting the OP for saying that the game is flawless: If you're going to be pedantic enough to list the flaws/bugs/etc, then perhaps you need to be just as pedantic about syntax. Re-read the title of this thread. It reads: 'For me Skyrim Is Flawless and Polished'. The words 'For me' are an important clause - the game is not stated to be flawless, it is stated to be flawless for him. If the bugs don't impact someone in any way, then the game can indeed be flawless to them. The word flawless can be used objectively (as in a flawless equation, a flawless copy of something, etc) but, as is more evident with its synonym, 'perfect', it is also completely viable as a subjective term.

Not many things are flawless. This game is highly entertaining and will use up lots of my free time. Skyrim may be the best game I have ever played on Xbox, easily.

As far as dragons go, they were resurrected from the grave so they shouldn't be at 100%. When a bandit kicks your behind, do you know what level they are at compared to yours? Not all encounters are leveled with yours. I know of a certain frost troll that gave my level 7 character a hard time. Frost trolls are level 22.

The OP was stating his opinion on what he thought of the game, big deal. I think it's amazing and one of the best games I've played in years

Some people just don't let minor hiccups ruin the experience

You know... technically the game isn't flawless.

But I know exactly where the OP is coming from.

So do the people insisting that it's not.

The only people who are really wrong are the ones who try to put someone else down for enjoying and appreciating something they don't.

Whether you love the way "Skyrim" plays or found yourself dissapointed.

"Upgrade to console"? Skyrim was released for cellphones? :P

And playing for 50 hours, it's just that lack of polish that is starting to show.

The game isn't technically flawless. However, as an open world RPG, I've yet to play better.

Wow at all the negativity in this thread.

I'm glad you're enjoying the game OP :)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...if the OP thinks it's flawless, then it is to him.

Flawless?

I've seen many floating trees, rocks, objects, etc.
I've experienced numerous Dragon lock ups.
I've experienced bugged quests.
The UI doesn't work properly with a mouse and is generally poor.
Enchanting is ridiculously powerful.
Companions/followers often block your way.
Some textures are an eyesore.
Shadows, even on max, look like they are being cast by lego blocks.
Draw/LOD distance is WAY too short.
Many spoiler related bugs I won't post.

Is it a good game? Sure. But flawless? LOL.

Draw is fine on PC.

I agree with the OP.. mostly :goodjob:
Been playing since Morrowind, played Daggerfall and Oblivion, and have to say Skyrim is easily the most immersive.. by a large margin... easily...
But...
Bethesda :swear:
Didn't you read my messages way back in the beginning about dragons ? About making dragons epic ? About making dragons "Dark Souls" stone harsh ?
Its wrong to make a dragon weaker than an ice troll.. catering to the MW demographic ? :nono:

Apart from that glaring flaw which will surely be rectified in the next patch..
Skyrim

No it isn't. It's terrible.

And a side point: Shadows are horrendous and the only way to fix it is to decrease the distance shadows are loaded, as if my PC couldnt handle it.
