Frost Atronach vs Dremora Lord

Post » Fri Sep 21, 2012 10:06 am

I'm 95 in Conjeration and have everyspell excluding Master level ones, could easily summon the Dremora Lord, yet in EVERY fight, I summon Jackson.
Why? Because not only can he distract a lot, take a lot of damage and cause a stir with groups whilst i pick them off from a distance, but because my character feels safe with Jackson. (rping)
Also, I called my Frost Atronach "Jackson" because you know... Jackson Five... Frosty the snowman? Im terrible.
Tanya is my Flame Atronach and my Storm Atronach is... um... Sparky :/

Going by non-cheat wise.. Dremora Lord is best summon. Only other summon I recommend is Storm Atronach for fighting Dragons in the sky...

Now, if you are on the PC version, and what-not, then just simple cheat and have the best possible summon ever.. Dragon Priest. I summoned Two Dragon Priests once and had them fight an Ancient Dragon... That Dragon got destroyed quickly.

IF I had a PC i'd probably grab the blizzard succubus mod.
Call me a perv all you want but having those gorgious demon gals by my side and paralysing things with a kiss would be heaven. But I'm not on PC so i favor things like potent flame atronachs on my pyromancer. Fast, long range, good amount of health and their fire damage stacks with mine. Dramora, zombies and wrathmen get reserved for my darker characters. Still miffed that i can't use Dead Thrall on any Briarhearts that I kill.. had a set of daedric swords and glass armor set aside for one. :wallbash:

Ice Atronach vs Cryomancers, simply because their immune to frost damage. The Dramora Twins rock the house vs pretty much anything. Wrathmen work wonders as well since they are basicaly Deathlords with Dragon Bone Two-Handed Weapons!
-edit- if you're a die hard destruction mage with an addiction to AoE spells, you'll find your self favoring wich ever flavor of atronach matches your fav element to cast as each of the three is flat out immune to their corisponding element... Unlike the Dramora Twins who get pissy when you hit them with one too many fireballs..

Eejup, Wrathmen are a powerfull addition. But i think Dramora are still better since the dargonbone weapons off the Wrathmen are a unique (far weaker) version off dragonbone.

Edit: (Stats from the CSlist)
Wrathman: 800 health / 475 Stamina / Weapondamage: (20) Greatsword, (21) Battleaxe, (23) Warhammer
Dremora Lord: 345 heath (+daedric armor) / 230 Stamina / a lot off 2hand Perks / Weapon: (24 + 30 fire) Daedric Greatsword of the Inferno

I'm pretty sure the Dremora Lords are the best.

Frost Atronachs are tanks, when going against multiple strong enemies, multiple draugr deathlords, briarheart, a dremora lord is gonna get his butt whooped, as strong as they are, though so will a frost atronach, but the frost atronach will last a bit longer, allowing you to use them as a distraction. Dremora lords will deal more damage, but it will probably not be significant enough where they would be the better choice for a tank.

Honestly, though if a Wrathman indeed does 800 hp that is more than any other summon I believe, even a frost atronach (someone please correct me if im wrong) so they are likely the best tank, and with their 2 handed dragonbone weapon, even if its unecnhanted id go as far to say that they are now the best summon. For most regular enemies a dremora lord will be better as it can take the damage and deal out more against non-high level enemies, the wrathman will likely handle higher level enemies better.

I've seen two mudcrabs defeat a full-health blood dragon.

I have seen salmon gank a Titan that attempted to cross the river.

That are not the dragonbone weapons that the player can use. Wrathman unlike the keepers use a unique far more weaker weapon.
Also Wrathman don't have 2-handed perks and no armor rating due to the fact that they are (unlike the dremora) undead creatures and not a NPC.
The extra health would only help them to tank spells.

Odd... my lvl 50 vamp lord necro has zero-problems using Wrathmen to kill most anything.. wich is a godsend because most enemies are now frustratingly above his illusion spell threshold and he needs the extra buffer between him and the battle axes. Ofcourse he's buffing them with Rally and Call to Arms so that might factor in as well.

I don't want to say that Warthman are usless. They are a very good addition. But overall i think Demoras do the job better.

I glitched a Wrathman once so that the summon stays around forever (But aggressive). Summoned a Dremora Lord to fight it. Dremora Lord won. Dremora Lords will actually take more damage than any other summon mainly because of their armor.. Only problem for them is magical attacks. I normally don't use Dremora Lords when fighting mages..But against everything else, Dremora Lord will be better. I've seen my Dremora Lord kill three Draugr Deathlords in a row as well.. Also, Twin-Dremora-Lords are like.. Skyrim's version of the Hunters from Halo.
