Frost Atronach vs Dremora Lord

Post » Fri Sep 21, 2012 10:30 am

Which is stronger even with the Atromancy perk which makes atronachs 50% more powerful. If someone could show me their stats. I have heard Dremoras are great but frost atronachs never block and have ice cloak.

Dremora Lord is affected by the Conjuration perks, so Dremora Lord all the way

Well, someone on the pc can probably use console commands to summon them both, have them duke it out and see who wins. (do it 100 times to get a clear victor)

Apples and Oranges.

Frost Atronachs are your tanks. If someone is in a tunnel and you summon a Frost Atronach in front of them, they aren't getting through.

Dremora Lords mix magic with swords, and because of that, it makes them a balanced follower.

Strength-wise? Dremora Lord all the way.

I've used both of them and I'd have to say Dremora Lord, a Frost Atronach is good in some situations, like against a Sabre Cat, but with larger enemies they aren't helpful. A Dremora Lord as yet to fail in most situations I have been in, and I'd have to say it's one of the best things to summon.

Again, Dremora would have the cake in that fight.

I watched a single Dremora single-handedly defeat a half-health Blood Dragon. The best part was, it said, "No challenge at all." xD

I've seen two mudcrabs defeat a full-health blood dragon.

Dremora lord midget stomps every summon. Except if your fighting a dragon without dragonrend, Storm atronachs are probably better since they can attack them in the sky.

Storm Atronachs are the best Atronach, Dremora lords are the best thing you can summon. Storm Atronachs are good for ranged attacks, the Dremora lords are good for anything else.

Oh, so here's how it goes as far as conjured creatures. What they were meant to be played.

- Familiar: Weak fighter, fast movement, good for distracting enemies.
- Flame Atronach: Weak Caster, Long Range, waterwalker
- Flaming Familiar: This is a derka pet. It runs in and explodes when close to the enemy.
- Frost Atronach: Strong fighter, fast movement, watwerwalker
- Dragon Priest: Strong Caster, Long Range, Waterwalker (Need the Konahrik mask to summon)
- Dremora Lord: Strong Fighter Short Range
- Storm Atronach: Strong Caster, Long Range, Waterwalker
- Flame, Frost, Storm, Dead Thrall: Same as any other atronach/dead guy.
- Arniel's Shade: Caster
- Unbound Dremora: Strong Fighter, Short Range

I don't doubt that one bit. I was up against two giants and a mammoth and two mud-crabs wiped them all out.

Dremora Lords are great pretty much against everything, and if you summon two you're practically unstoppable. The only instances where I've seen them fail is against high level dragons (Ancient and up), Draugr Death Overlords, and Necromancer's due to there ice spam. Frost Atronach's are great against enemies that use frost damage, because they have a resistance to it. Dremora Lords can become very slow due to frost damage making them pitiful against certain enemies.

well, it was technically a glitch, one mudcrab was stuck in a rock mesh, so he was there, but couldn't be attacked because the rock was blocking it. So the bloodragon was locked in combat with him but wasn't doing any damage while the other mudcrab chipped away at his health. Did something similar like that happen to you.

frost atronach is a tank, it'll stagger the enemy, it'll slow them down and block them with their body. Plus you can cast Ice Storm through them.

Well as I was running from the two giants, I finally got up high on a rock and turned around to see that both the giants have been KO'd by these two mud crabs. Then the crabs went after the mammoth and I just grabbed the popcorn and watched. I don't think there was a glitch, maybe it was just the crabs were too small for these large enemies.

Ice Atronach vs Cryomancers, simply because their immune to frost damage. The Dramora Twins rock the house vs pretty much anything. Wrathmen work wonders as well since they are basicaly Deathlords with Dragon Bone Two-Handed Weapons!
-edit- if you're a die hard destruction mage with an addiction to AoE spells, you'll find your self favoring wich ever flavor of atronach matches your fav element to cast as each of the three is flat out immune to their corisponding element... Unlike the Dramora Twins who get pissy when you hit them with one too many fireballs..

Frosts are my least favorite out of the three Atronachs. They're big and strong but they're really slow.

Dremora Lords would easily defeat a Frost Atronach. They're both Daedra but Dremora are much higher up.

Also, Dremora Lords are the coolest things you can summon in Skyrim.
