Full refund for PS3 users unhappy with ES:V

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 10:33 am

First ever post in a forum.

I feel cheated, like many on this forum, that we as PS3 users have been completely hoodwinked by Bethesda again, who instead of telling it like it was and is before launch insisted on telling us that everything was okay and that the game had reached "great levels of parity" on both the 360 and PS3.

What we have recieved is a fundimentally broken build of what is a fantastic piece of gaming. If the title performed THIS BADLY on the other platforms it would be delayed, and fixed -- whatever about it leading on 360 or not!!

So what do we do? well, As every legitmate copy Skyrim costs the same, and I handed over 55 euro of hard earned money for mine (the same as every other gamer, PS3 or otherwise) i believe its aright we see a reimbursment for our purchase. The game is faulty, it has a tendency to break, has BROKEN PS3s.. we deserve a refund for a discount on the initial purchase.

Just because Bethesda are too proud to outsource cross-platform development doesn't mean we should have to suffer.

Peace.

you're not the first to start this type of topic and you are likely not to be the last.

Every game released is like this on the ps3.
Every Bethesda RPG game released is like this on the ps3.

and no i don't think you are getting your money back from Bethesda.

If I wanted to, I would sit in the store until they refunded me fully, if they don't... I'll literally sit on the floor, let the cops come, get arrested... then it will make it on the news, THEN Bethesda might realize.

Every game released is not like this on the PS3. I've played many a multiplatform release of games on PS3, and none of them have done this.

What are you talking about? There are plenty of games that run great on the PS3.

Calm down. Wait and see if they fix it first. If not, THEN demand a refund.

I am not so eager to be refunded. The PS3 is the only system I own and this is potentially the greatest and most beautiful game I have ever played. If I'm sure it will never be fixed then yes, I would want a refund and I'd have to buy a 360. But I am quite happy to wait first to see if they can fix it. I don't know whether they will fix it or not, only time will tell. Presumably they could solve it by just reducing the time it takes for objects in the world to disappear.

Patience.

I literally felt saddened when i first began to realise the massive drops in performance. Like every other user on 360 and PC i should be able to enjoy the game without that irritating worry that the game is gonna skip, and completely break the immersion. They already lied to us once about the games supposed "technical wonder". They've come out since saying that a patch is in development.Tell me, what are the odds that patch will do NOTHING to fix the PS3 version's main gripes? Very high imo. There is only so much they could do (if they really cared) before they hit the stuff that is already hard coded into the game's main structure.

I am never buying a bethesda game on day one again. Serves me right for submitting to the hype macine.

I wish I could get all my money back. I'll settle for a £20 loss on the PS3 version really. Really saddened at this point, never reached the 5 MB point but this makes me want to take the game back right now and trade it in.

I'm really glad so many of you guys are with me on this. We could really get something done here. I dont particularly feel keen on missing out on this experience, but the absence of all important care and attention to the PS3 build is very circa. 2007 of Bethesda. PS3 ports are no longer the bastardised version of the supposedly superior 360 games, developers have moved on. That is the reason i got rid of my 360 (which i originally got rid of my PS3 for) to acquire a PS3 slim. Just because this is Bethesda's first effort since 2008's Fallout 3 doesn't mean they can shoddily push out some wonky excuse for a port.

Did they think we wouldn't notice?

We as PS3 gamers deserve nothing less that a personal appology. Everyone who had high hopes and were hoodwinked by Todd and his minions deserve an explanation and an apology IMMEDIATELY. This is ridiculous.

The way I see it they have 3 options:

1. Fix it by patches. IF they can.
2. Recall it, give everyone who bought it vouchers, and rework the game for PS3 to release sometime in 2012. Use the vouchers for your "free" copy that has been built specifically for PS3 and properly tested.
3. Recall it, refund everyone who bought it, issue a public apology, and move on without a PS3 version of Skyrim.

after hearing about all this i am glad i did not have the money to buy the game immediately upon its launch date, i refuse to fork over 60 bucks for a defective game, sorry Bethesda, i was really looking forward to this title but ill be getting Assassin's Creed Revelations instead, and ill be sure in the future to wait at least a week or more before buying any more Bethesda releases

1. Only so much they can do but a real valiant effort would be well appreciated. (By me anyway)

2. Ideal, absolutely ideal. Rework the game to work PROPERLY. Give everyone vouchers for a special "game of the year" edition with all DLC since included. And than release it at a premium in the stores in March/April next year.

3. Little bit less ideal, a little pointless, but I would have MASSIVE respect for Bethesda if they did.

First post to a forum? way to rant fella, broken PS3's ? not heard of the game managing to do that, post a link for proof would be an idea.

We know the game has problems , hopefully they can be fixed, we will see but demanding full refunds , apologies......LOL there were posts like yours when Oblivion was released too.

Realistically i guess, a patch will be as much as we'll get. We can hope for everything else but at the end of it thats all that Bethesda will bother trying and that will be there excuse. "Oh well, we patched it, we did what we could".

I really hope this stands to Bethesda in the future. No developer should be allowed to get away with this, and sting what is basically one-third of their hard-paying audience.

The Sony QA team should have rejected the [censored] out of this game when it was sent in for approval.

That's true, you'd think they'd fix it by now? Nope! Same bugs in every game they developed. Tried playing BF3 on an Acer laptop I got at Walmart several years ago and it didn't lag as bad as Skyrim does on the PS3

Do a Google search buddy.

I wont waste my time, imo back up a statement you make with facts, I have never had a game break a system, I have had a game corrupt It's OWN data rendering the one game useless which is I suspect what you are referring to.

It's a pity the forum is getting flooded with the rant threads, I'm a Beth critic myself but I'll refrain from shotgun venting this early in a games life cycle as it looks like rattle tossing even when it's justified.

I'm sitting back, monitoring how my game progresses, make use of and add to the investigative help threads which can actually do some good rather than pay any further attention to the rant/ class action lawsuit (OOh saw them back in 2006 too lol) threads.

Rant on fella.
