Maybe if they fixed vampires so they moved faster and jumped higher in an update. For a DLC I want to go to a unique landscape. Somewhere near one of the southern oceans.

Solid and possible ideas:
1) the real ending for the civil war - The moot will meet and you will be present at the coronation of the high king/queen....and then something horrible happens.
2) More spells
3) Mounted combat with Knightly tournaments
4) Spears
5) Tribunal-eque expansion telling us the events after the main quest
6) Build your own house/mansion/castle - some mods can do that. I see no reason why beth couldn't do that.
7) Sailor-Viking dlc - the Sea of Ghosts with a glimpse of Atmora.

Wishfull thinking"
1) time travel
2) spell making
3) Akaviri/Tsaesci travellers
4) Thalmor war - battle of the Imperial City

Impossible:
1) Part of a new province
2) akaviri invasion

now that's an interesting idea, you don't really see knights in skyrim, if a knights faction came about and had these types of tournaments that could be interesting.

How are you going to eat people in werewolf form, and hunt them with a spear at the same time?
Cannibalism!

They should of left Dawnguard for last. Give people the Thalmor and the Psijiic Order and all that other great stuff, then come out with Dawnguard as an expansion the size of the Shivering Isles, except we visit Molag Bal's realm of Coldharbour, engage in twisted, dominating quests and minigames, meet sadists, rapists and all sorts of colorful people just like we did in the Shivering Isles. We can work for Molag Bal and do his bidding and visit an Apocalyptic version of Tamriel! Both alien and mundane . . .a truly different experience.

Oh and the sky is on fire and the ground is sludge? Hell yeah! But no . . .we got a trashcan of a realm where souls from black soul gems are thrown away :(. Dawnguard had the potential to make Shivering Isles make a run for its looney tooney money.

I would like something political. I felt like any points I put into speechcraft in the vanilla game were more or less wasted. I think it would be fun to have to deal with post-civil war politics. You could have a play through where it centers around the moot. You have to choose which Jarl you feel would make the best high king and do everything in your power to get him elected. Collect some artifacts showing he (or she) has a claim to the throne convince other Jarls to back you up maybe even eliminate some Jarls that don't support you by conspiring with their housecarls, that sort of thing. Then at the end you get rewarded with your land and customizable house. Then the house building could be more morrowind style. Which property you get depends on who you supported and it gets built in stages where you have to collect workers and materials. I'd also like to see the concept of Thane expanded upon with more perks and duties.

THIS.

Too many of you focus on mundane details (horse armor, mounted combat, spears, more mage stuff, etc etc....) While those may be interesting as individual items, what's truly needed is more STORIES. Long quests with lots of interesting events going on beyond "go and get the thing and bring it to the place and you get more stuff."

I'm hoping for something that allows the player to own their own plot of land (like a small village or homestead). So there'd be shops of your choosing (blacksmith, alchemist, book shop e.t.c), you could choose the race of your guards (if you wanted more Khajiit in the game for example) and you could choose your town's flag and colours. You could choose who to side with in the civil war and whether there'll be a Thieves Guild presence and stuff like that.

It sort of goes back to Morrowind where you could build your own home when you got to a certain level in a faction or guild. Basically, I want more places to live

Ya know, that could be built into a DLC, where you reconquer Helgen and take it from the idiot bandits, then rebuild it. You'd have to do something about the cave section to either seal it off permanently or maintain security there as well.
Maybe you could recruit people to join your new town. For instance, the farmer guy and his wife who are wandering everywhere - they could become citizens. You'll need a captain of the guard, who could be one of the hired mercenaries. You'll need personal security, perhaps in the form of a member of the Dark Brohood. Depending on your commercial ties, you might want to have a Thieves guild representative there. Without question you'll need a court wizard, so Winterhold's college will need to release someone.
Lots of room for a cool dlc - especially if someone/something unpleasant has taken over the cave area, and the bandits decide that they want to keep or retake the town from you. Also, you'll become involved in the civil war, and can expect the imperials, the stormcloaks, and even the thalmor to want to interact with you. Perhaps the dunmer will approach you and ask you to make the place a refuge for their kind in skyrim - that could get REALLY interesting. Perhaps the khajiit caravans will ask for something similar.

One of these days I'm gonna grab the game mod tools and start spitting out DLC's like a madman. ;-)

oooh Helgen would be great! It seems a shame to waste such a decent sized area of land, not to mention the sizeable fort and cave area you mentioned. The caves could be turned into a mine perhaps? You might discover a gold ore vein or something and use the money raised from that to build the town. There could be quests where you entertain an envoy of each faction/guild and decide if they can have a HQ in your town.
I'd want it in a seperate cell like the big cities though so there'd be less chance of a dragon flying over and slaughtering your townsfolk.

That sounds awesome!

Now if Hearthfire (assuming it will be the house building DLC) won't be like this, I'll be disappointed

Let me become a Lich, have better Dead Thralls, and possibly Draugar Thralls (Or ghost thralls I suppose). And give us some sweet looking armor with a cloak and a Sabre Cat head on the helmet, some more "Epic" type armor would be cool too.

Let me become a Lich,

I actually agree with this idea but becoming a Lich would be hard to do and be quite deadly.

I want another shivering isle's situation where you become a deadric prince, but this time you actually play as the prince. Don't need to be immortal or anything, but some new spells and armor, new weapons, own realm, own subjects, own altar, and people will recognize you as the deadric prince.

Maybe have it be like vampirism and lycanthropy and you get your own demonic transformation

You wouldn't have to replace a prince, it could be a story about a new prince coming into the world

As for things with the Thalmor that some have proposed, I personally think that the fall of the Aldmeri Dominion deserves its own game that would start probably in Valenwood and encompass the whole of the Dominion. After all, Bethesda needs a descent expanse of time between Skyrim's events and the next War to reconcile the two endings of Skyrim's war, likely in the form of a renewed Empire under a new or revitalized Imperial line. That is just speculation though.

As for new DLC, I am not sure what to expect or suggest. One of them being a large region would be very nice though, like Shivering Isles. I suppose Highrock could be a viable option. A part of Morrowind would be cool as well.

But regardless of setting, a good story like Dawnguard and a new weapon type for each DLC (still looking for Spears :) ) would be very nice in general ;)

DLC I would like (which could be mixed-and-matched as needed):

1. Orsinium: helping the city become prosperous and establishing connections with the rest of Tamriel (Since the lore states that the city has been sacked and relocated numerous times in the last 200 years, I picture it as little more than a large refugee camp ruled by an Orc government-in-exile, in some isolated mountain valley).

2. Continuations of the base games storylines (ex. Kingsmoot post-Civil War with option to become High King/Queen yourself, joining Kodlak in harrowing the Hunting Grounds.)

3. Solstheim: while geography it wouldn't be a change of scenery, it's been heavily colonized by the Dunmer over the last 200 years so it should have some of Morrowind's architectural flair. And it would be nice to revisit some bit of Morrowind again.

4. Rebuilding Helgen and/or Winterhold, repairing cities damaged during the Civil War--along with the rumored estate-building; could overlap with #1 as well.

5. Thalmor: Not an out-and-out war with them (that should be saved for a later game), but I would like more interaction with them. Both weakening and strengthening their influence in Skyrim, as you prefer, for those of us who have been tempted to play a Thalmor agent / collaborator. Could overlap with #2.

I would like to see post-apocalyptic Morrowind. It would be a whole new experience, with new, even more brutal houses, improvised weaponry, desolate and dangerous landmass, the old monsters who survived the destruction. Imagine that. :disguise:
(I admit, I'm a fan of fallout(It should be obvious really), but you have to see the potential in this! )
