Future DLC Suggestions (Not Dawnguard) - Thread #4

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 1:52 pm

what are you talking about? all the provinces still are called by their names but are a part of the empire.

That was an example showing how all the Empire's provinces kept their identity, and how the same rule applies to the provinces in the Aldmeri Dominion.

Despite being a part of the Aldmeri Dominion the still retain their identity, it would be like if all provinces in the Empire were simply called Cyrodiil, but they kept their individuality even when under one entity.

Ah. I thought there would be a different arrangement with them.

I'm sure the Thalmor think of it all as the Aldmeri Dominion, simply because they consider themselves better than anyone else.

They do with their racial superiority ideal and how they treat the bosmer as slaves despite the fact that valenwood is part of the Dominion.

Scrolls!

We should be able to craft scrolls! It's the perfect way to implement spell creation while adding downsides to keep it ballanced for those who like that! Via enchanting, or some other meathod that takes resorces like paper, charcoal, soulgems, ex... we could craft scrolls to our liking! After use, the scroll would burn up, and if it still seemed to strong the scrolls could require two hands to cast, one to hold the scroll and another to shoot it off. Throw in a special spellbook artifact that could keep say five of the scrolls from going up in smoke after one use, and it would be perfect.

The freedom of spellmaking ballanced by the cost and effort to creat the scrolls.

The Dark Elves are cursed beings. They were cursed by Azura for worshiping the Tribunal (Vivec, Almalexia, Sotha Sil) instead of the Daedra.

Two redguard outfits which only differ by their colors and those swords.

Maybe some dlc with some redguard stuff? Maybe a return to Stros M'kai. Maybe a weapon or piece of equipment that belonged to Cyrus?

I love the thought of connecting the older Elder Scroll games to Skyrim.

Something more developed. I liked what Bethsesda did with Dawnguard but the new areas felt grossly underdeveloped. Especially Soul Cairn so maybe an update to Soul Cairn would be nice.

Basically an area that you want to have to go back and forth to and from instead of the go there complete quest never set foot there again until another play through or some arbitrary reason.

I'm still holding out for a money sink like an upgradeable fortress or town you manage.

I hope in the "big" DLC that involves another great war (without a doubt they will have it) if you side with the thalmor and win you become the governor of Skyrim and you have to make choices like you did as king in fable 3 and as Governor you can decide to build walls, upgrade cities, build armies. If you side with the Nords you can become High King and make the choices like I said before, but also conquer new lands like Bruma, border cities of High Rock, Morrowind, the Orc country. Then you could go to a map click on it and see how far your influence is, how rich is the overall region and other stuff.

More customizable characters, a thicker main story (Adding on much more), customizable house, Snow Elf Race (which I thought was meant to be in dawnguard >_<), Another guild like the thieves guild or the companions (bring more of these type of storylines).

Yeah this seems like a good idea( not trying to be sarcastic if you're wandering)

Booze cruises I want to borrow Titus mede's yacht, and sail all up and down the coast partying while felonies are committed below decks. Eventually when we get back to port we realize one of the strippers is missing. Its to late she is at the bottom of the Sea of Ghosts by now. How come every cruise has to have a murdering pyscho on it.

Well, here's a few. These could be either DLC or patch items. I doubt any develepers will read this, but here is...
  • Spears. Here's why. Skyrim has a large population of sabre cats, bears, trolls and other large animals. Spears have been used for hunting and for protection against such animals since ancient times here on our world, so why not Skyrim? And besides there's quite a bit of demand for them, it seems.
  • Necessary eating. After putting cooking in and grainmills you can use without purpose, it just makes sense to include a hard core mode that requires you to eat food. Foods you use the cooking pot for provide much more health than uncooked and raw foods. Maybe if there were more wheat around Skyrim, you could use those grainmills to make flour and add breadmaking... you know, since there's already breads. Cooked foods will obviously provide the most benefit. Uncooked but safe foods like apples provide some benefit. Raw meats might actually harm you a little. Making the Dovakhiin a couple beverages a day wouldn't hurt either. And why not? Vampires already use a similar mechanic!
  • Every chest in Skyrim that there is a treasure map for make a safe-storage area. That makes a lot of sense, doesn't it? But really, a few safe-storage areas out in the wilderness somewhere would be wonderful.
That's just a few. It goes without saying more areas to explore or factions to join, as well.

ohhh.. How about a murder mystery at a castle and the front door is locked while everyone inside has to find out who the murderer is!

Idea here people they add a new feature where you can burn down things, smash building, and make rubble. After a while though they can have people called builders come by and in 5 in game days everything is rebuilt, but looks slightly different. They could have 10 slightly looking different variants of the building.

I would at least like to have seen my idea as a quest add-on, not so much as a DLC really, but it could be a great way to dive a bit deeper into the Ancient Nord things. Also, it would be my excuse to have the helm of Ysgramor be given to the hero for defending the people of Skyrim through defending their culture.

Sorry for the long list, but here's some things I would like to see:

New dragon shouts (I'd like the ones fire dragons use at a distance that are like massive fireballs, a vacuum pull effect, a silent dragon shout which swaps the pc with the target)

For non-enchanters the ability to use fire/void/frost salts when smithing to give weapons said elemental damage

Throw normal weapons (hold activate and whilst power attacking)

Some sort of half dragon transformation

Ability to enchant arrows

Evolved dragon shouts by using a forth word change the effect of the dragon shout, and make certain dragon shouts have more than one 4 word so you would have to chance over which one you think would be the best example fire breath 4th words could be Fire bomb (like I mentioned above), lingering fire (fire breath has the fire wall effect), Dragons flames (what normal dragons do)

Upgrade spells using special tomes

Going to war with the Thalmor
  • If you are in the Imperial legion and a legate you can command troops.
  • you can use all the allies you have made (depending on the decisions you make for example if you sided with the blades and killed parthurax or with the greybeards and kept him alive) like the Jarls and their, orc strongholds, the blades, the greybeards, parthurnax and the dragons, the thieves guild, the collage, and dark brotherhood to held you fight the dominion.
  • fight your way across tamriel liberating the areas under thalmor control like valenwood and hammerfall.
  • traveling to cyrodil and summerset isle.
  • Become Empirer and re-light the dragon fires.
  • New weapons, armour and spells Eg. throwing weapons like knives and axes.

simply new areas to explore but make em bigger then anything in dawnguard and make em pretty. Exploring the forgotten vale put a giant smile on my face but something much larger would make me even happier. Also lots of quests to do to keep me busy. :P
