Future DLC Suggestions (Not Dawnguard) - Thread #5

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 2:27 pm

Simple: just a campaign in Cyrodiil, the war between Empire/Stormcloacks and Thalmor and being able to become the supreme king of skyrim (alliance with Stormcloacks, with Ulfric surrendering to your absolute awesomeness) or the Emperor (if you side with the Empire), and authentic dovahkiin emperor (yeah). And of course, and option to marry Elisif (if you become the supreme king) or Serana (if you become Emperor). That would be epic xD.

To bring back all killed npc, that you aren't meant to kill. Reason being is that the vampires started a holocaust on humans in my game. I have entire towns, only with children, and main people left in them.

Why remove something that add immersion and thrill ?
I had riften and windhelm merchants all death from dragons attacks

On topic, as i've stated many times a return to morrowind would be plausible only if we could have a logical connection of the great collapse and the concomitant volcano eruption, but only a part of morrowind, and even of high rock and hammerfell hopefully in the future

A good reason to see winterhold and helgen in their former glory

I think creatures need more variety in how they attack and defend. Have some animals jump and run much faster, and block, or have special magic to counter your attacks.... Generally, most of the enemies just run at you, and/or stand there and use distant attacks.

An idea I would like is the possibility of having the ability to see how far along with a skill level one is on. It becomes tedious to check over and over in the skills menu to see how far you are to the next level. So perhaps the freedom to select one or even two skills one would like to follow on the main screen as another bar above the health bar or under the shout bar near the enemy health bar or even vertical on the side.

Since Skyrim is Nord focused, up to and including Ancient Falmer / Snow Elves in the Dawnguard DLC, what could be more interesting than to have a DLC featuring Atmora. A possible Atmora DLC story setting: an Altmer military invasion of Skyrim and an Altmer genocidal campaign waged against Skyrim inhabitents could be the next DLC background story. This Altmer invasion could then only be stopped by getting Nede/ Ancient Nord knowledge/items from Atmora. The Altmer and Skyrim rulers are then in a race to rediscover Atmora. Atmora could be a huge continent of which only a small fully intact, inhabited and fertile part is not covered in ice and snow. The accessible part of Atmora could be engaged in a civil war between two Nede/Ancient Nord factions. There could be two areas and two minor settlements, one for each faction with each having their distinct flavour and style. The Dragonborn can then decide which Nede/Nord faction have his/her preference and which faction will win the civil war through Dragonborn support. The different Nede/Nord factions could be a Dragon Cult Priest/mage oriented faction and an Ysgramor-based warrior oriented faction. The Dragonborn could choose the faction to back based on his/her character preference. Each faction could have their own unique armour, arms and skill tree. The main story would involve leading one faction to victory and uniting all Nede/Ancient Nord under the leadership of the Dragonborn. The main story could be built around rediscovering the original Atmoran Nede/Ancient Nord capital city. A dragon could be responsible for covering Atmora and the capital in ice and snow and another dragon might be added that helps the Dragonborn to free the capital city from ice and snow. At the end of the main story the Nede/Ancient Nord capital city in the center of the inhabitable part of the Atmora continent could be rediscovered and freed from ice and snow by the Dragonborn. A Nede/Ancient Nord crown, sword and other regalia could further be the symbol that unites all Atmorian Nede/Ancient Nord under the leadership of the Dragonborn. Upon conclusion of the civil war in Atmora the capital city could be rebuilt and reclaimed by the Nede/Ancient Nord and the Dragonborn could become the ruler of Atmora with a Dragonsreach like castle as a new home. The inhabitable part of Atmora could be roughly the size of the Whiterun area. The Atmora capital city could have a unique legendary dragon with a learnable dragonborn shout. The Atmora Dragon could at the end of the main story join the Dragonborn in defeating the Altmer invasion of Skyrim, which would conclude the Atmora DLC.

Some further Atmora DLC details:

- Allow the Dragonborn to rediscover Atmora , the home of the Nedes (ancient Nord). Atmora could have one major city that looks like a cross between Windhelm and Whiterun. The whole area could be roughly the size of the Whiterun area with one major and two minor settlements.

- The Dragonborn could become King on that Island/Continent comparable to the Oblivion Shivering Isles DLC, instead of having the eternal errant boy/girl status in Skyrim.

- Atmora could supply more Ancient Nord oriented Arms and Armour which feats nicely into Skyrim.

- Atmora could give the player a sort of King/Great Jarl status in Atmora, with a new castle as a new home for the Dragonborn comparable in style to the Jarl's Dragonsreach in Whiterun. The new home/castle should be easily reachable through just one fast travel from and to Skyrim with merchants to locally sell excess items. Of course it should include all necessities in one place, like a smithy, enchantment, potion mixer and the same kind and amount of storage units like available in the Windhelm Dragonborn house.

- Constantly generated Atmora quests just like in the current Skyrim Jarl-areas can keep Atmora an interesting place to constantly visit and explore (as opposed to the Dawnguard forgotten vale area which has no revisit value). Again comparable to Shivering Isles in Oblivion.

I think we should go to Hircine's Hunting Grounds because it has a vastly differently environment than Skyrim, so that would be a nice change, and they could add in Solsthiem with this DLC and make it so that the way we get to the Hunting Grounds is from Solstheim.

On this topic, I've always wondered why Dwarven weapons are stronger than Orcish, but the armor is weaker. I mean, that always bugged me, because Orcish armor looks a LOT less effective than Dwarven does, and that's the only time when the better type of armor looks less effective. I mean, why make Dwarven weapons stronger, but armor weaker? It should be both stronger, or at least the other way around, since Orcs are thought of as strong warriors with top-grade weaponry.

Also, I think it would be cool if they added unique crossbows.

oralthicum (or however it is spelled) may be stronger or more resistant to repeated blows than the dwarven metal, where the dwarven metal may be more flexible and easier to sharpen. that is why steel makes better weapons in real life, but iron makes better armor if fused with steel. iron is brittle but strong, whereas steel is flexible and easy to sharpen. that may be why oralthicum has worse weapons and better armor.

2nd dovahkin so i can have someone of equal power in the world to duel with

YES!! The Greybeards even hinted at it!
"so i'm the only Dragonborn?"
"that we know of, for the time, yes."

IDK if that was the exact dialogue, but they said something close that said "that you're the only one that they know of." after that i was waiting the entire dragonborn/alduin questline to meet my dragonborn wifeypoo/mortal enemy. (depending)

snip* Atmora

Yea that would good a nice place to visit, I think would be great is we could learn more about dragons. As they have awakened.

I think however, that would be a massive expansion and given they said they are not doing that I doubt it. I think the Orsimer one sounds more likely for a DLC expansion. After all they did tell us the side of the DLC's they wanted to make and we have Dawnguard as a measurement now.

My personal tasts would be a deadric realm, however given they did that in Oblivion and they did a vampire dlc ( what were they thinking? ) I do not think we will get one. I reckon it is going to be Orsimer or something Dragon related. Perhaps the re-emergence of a dragon cult? DIdn't Mer used to worship them? So what if they do one relating to the Thalmor and the Dragons?

6. The ability to convert spells into Dragon Shouts
I don't think that would be such a great idea, but maybe the ability to create your own dragon shouts.

1.Introduce a quest chain in Winterhold that lets you raise the ruins of the city out of the Sea of Ghosts using some ancient long forgotten spell that you have to discover from various fragments scattered throughout Skyrim. 2.A divorce option or the ability to dress your spouse. 3.Fully upgradable Castle Volkihar and Fort Dawnguard that's also a massive gold sink.ie 500,000 septims or more. 4.A return to Solsthiem would be nice, if anything it'll keep the people begging for werewolf content happy. Possibly have items like Ysgramor's armor from the loading screens there as well as Stahlrim, Nordic Chainmail and The Skaal.6.Have the moot meet and declare the new high king and see a resolution to the Thalmor /Imperials /Stormcloaks conflict.

Return of the Dwemer. Alduin returned - we all know how that was made possible. Same thing could happen with the Dwemer. Save your "But This Is The Lore! Waaaahhh!" arguments, they are useless against me.

There should be a patch to fix all the f'ng broken gd homes. I'll take that over more DLC any day of the week. I'd *buy* it if it *was* DLC.

the second should be something verry verry small so they can get rid of the XBOX 360 exclusively crap.

but the third would be cool if the thalmor have captured dragons and keeping them under controle with magic or something.
and they start use them to invade Skyrim with dargons as mounts. and maybe some verry big battle fields to make it feel like its really war.
a new piece of land like a island or something and some new shouts would be cool to

The first post was very acruate , I can only think to add arrow enchantments and getting to ride on dragons (only those dragons that can't fly) or once you mount them they can't fly
Mounting non flying dragons is like driving a Lamborghini while using only the first gear. Weird, useless, unreal.

The first thing I'd like in the next Skyrim DLC is the availability for ALL THE PLATFORMS, without the mean exclusive given to anyone. But this is utopic, I must admit that: It's like asking Cicciolina to return to virginity.

Revenge of the Dwarfs

A massive energy blast spreads across Skyrim.

Rumours start to spread about things happening around dwemer ruining.

The Dragon Born finds out that the Dwarfs have in deed returned and they have joined the Thalmor. And together they will conquer and enslave all the other races of Tamriel starting with the peoples of Skyrim.

Talos appears before the Dragon Born and tells him that the only way to defeat this new enemy is to get the Dragons, Nords and Snow Elves to join forces. And to help you in this Talos uncurses the Falmer turning them back into Snow elves and restoring there sight.

I'd like to see more to do with the Dwemer disappearance, especially after completing a certain College of Winterhold quest (even if I did have to use console commands to complete it, because it was, and still is as far as im aware, broken...).
