Future DLC Suggestions (Not Dawnguard) - Thread #5

I think there's a 99% chance that he was being sarcastic.
The elder scrolls is a very serious game series especially when it comes to dlc. So I believe he was not being sarcastic.

I want to visit another plain of oblivion like we did in Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion.

Why dont we have a new plain of oblivion in EVERY Elder Scrolls game?

Oh hey, You know what would make our mounts great? Armor. We should have Horse Armor DLC! Thats a fantastic idea, I cant believe im the first to think of it! Why am I so awesome?
And it should be included in the next patch and include a suit for every material in Skyrim. To make amends for all the people who can no longer show their face after wasting money on the overpriced Oblivion version...

I want to visit other Planes of Oblivion. Specifically, Coldharbour. A copy of Nirn in ruins? Any mortal that enters is captured and turned into a slave? It's the perfect Planes of Oblivion for a good story and interesting land to explore.

  • Falmar invasion (including new Dwemer ruins/cities)
  • Forsworm Invasion (Starts off by receiving a note via Courier. Jarl Igmund informing Dragonborn that Markarth is under siege by the Forsworm and is requesting help. When Dragonborn arrives, he witnesses catapults firing. Followed by 10-20+ forsworm NPC's storming through the cities defenses into the city. Dragonborn goes in for the rescue, kills off the attackers & forcing the rest to retreat. Then your char goes off to talk to the Jarl. That's all I have for now as a storyline add-on. Hopefully someone else can fill in the rest....)
Idea for new Update Patch?
  • Ability to forge your very own Dwarven Automaton (Spider, Sphere or Centurion) companion made from Dwemer Scrap.

I would love Skyrim to be more in depth and interactive, for example:

Towns/Jarls
  • Allow us to compete for a Jarl's position in a town
  • If successful, allow us to have options in how the town runs on a day to day basis
  • Add more town based functions and main/side quests
  • Add politics and a faction scale between holds/towns/keeps
  • Allow a faction system where if the factions drops below a certain cap, the town would turn hostile (from choices we make in quests and speech while interaction with towns Npcs)
  • Allow enough of a faction drop to incite war - (Npcs would actually take to arms, travel too and storm the rival town etc)
  • Allow ways to earn faction back via diplomacy, negotiations, deeds and so on
  • Towns folk could vote like an election once every in game 1/4 (3 months) if you did not rule well, you could be voted out by the towns folk
Shops/Stalls
  • Allow us to build our own stall or shop
  • Allow for Npcs/Wives/Husbands to run the stall in the players absence (Npc would be paid a wage or cut from the takings)
  • Allow players to craft their own items and place for sale to traveling Npcs/Towns folk
  • Setup a trade/barter system between stalls/shops/towns folk (I could trade a set of iron armour and a steel sword to the local guards for protection (guard would stand out side shop or by stall for a period of time) or (trade weapons/armor for food/drink/potions etc)
  • Allow shops stalls to be upgraded, expanded, developed like a house would but in a business sense and property sense
  • Player set prices could affect towns folk and economy - high prices would have towns folk make crude comments and/or ignore you, while Low prices would attract more business and friendly remarks/side quests
  • Allow options of which shop/stall a player could build/buy (Alchemy, Armour/Weapon, Herblore, Tavern etc)
  • Create a hire option for local town folk to work for you for a fee (Tavern would need yeast, wheat, barrels and so on to make Ale, while a general store would require vegetables and produce, local farmers could sells these to the player or a player could build/buy a local farm and grow these themselves or have a hired family/npc do this for them for a wage)
I personally would love to see something like this added to Skyrim, it would make the game totally come alive and the lore and role playing aspect would be incredible, it would allow a player to become part of a town and actually feel at home and like they belong. A player could work for an Npc as a living if they choose too or work hard to gather the required items to build their own stall/shop and either run it or have someone run it for them or share the job...so many possibilities!

Anyway, I had a lot more to write but got distracted and lost my train of thought, so that's it for now.

I would personally pay big money for an expansion like this

What do you guy's and girls think?

I just wanted to point out that it is HIGHLY unlikely they will have a dlc set in another province. They will most likely save that for the next game. That said I'd love to have an archaeological expedition to Atmora

I see only two real options:

One is that we explore one of the formerly conquered Akaviri Island — because Akavir that's why — and have to deal with the natives, both as enemies and factions.

OR

We go into a proper Daedric realm, preferably Sanguine's because that would be incredibly entertaining.

And whichever happens there will be spears. And more than 4 of them.

I'm not sure I'd like sanguine But I like these two ideas!

If the next DLC is in fact named Hearthfire and it's focus is on magic, then I think it might have something to do with the Synod or The College of Whispers or maybe even Jashe, the Lorkan priestess and witch queen of Whiterun.

sounds interesting

Okay everyone me and my buddy pulled an all nighter today and during that we were playing skyrim. We were talking about new DLC's and what they should add may it be VIA new werewolf stuff or something along those lines. Though my buddy and I began talking about something completely different. I love the Knights Of The Nine, always have. Because there is just something about being a warrior of light, doing what is right in the face of impossible odds.

That got me to thinking, I write fake skyrim lore as a hobby. WHile I was writing my buddy and I came up with the following for a DLC, so please bear with me. I have a feeling you will like it, and if not. Then at least I got the idea out there.

"Paragon"

The Dragonborn is visited in a dream (Sleep to activate quest) and is startled by what he see's. The Dragonborn see's Talos before him, Talos tells him the following "that it is time. A darkness will rise, and you cannot defeat it. Unless you follow me in the footsteps that lead me to the devines. Take your rightful place as the 10th devine, the protecter of Tamriel and do what I and the other devines could not. Protect the people while you walk among them". The Draginborn awakes in a cathedral, it is so bright at first. Then the light begins to dim, as he see's a man. With a golden Aura glistening off of his angelic armor, everything is dark except for that man. The knight begins to step forward approaching the Dragonborn. He says to the Dragonborn with just a Whisper that pierces the Dragonborns soul with the little words that came out of his mouth. The knight said "Kill me." Upon these words the dragon draws his/her weapon while the knight just stands there, so bright and beautiful he was how could I harm him. The dragon born sheaths the sword, sparring the Paragon. The man turns to the dragonborn and releases his soul into the Dragonborn, killing himself while giving the Dragonborn the gift. Though if you slay the Paragon, you would have consumed the cursed paragon through the cold blood you spilled. (Which by killing or sparing the paragon is what set's up the DLC with a choice that decides your path in the DLC) You are then told by the paragon with his last words to call to the Devine within yourself and all will be clear. Upon ding this, a light flashes on the players screen slowly as is looks like it is enveloping the Dragonborn in the light. As it begins to fade, the Dragonborn see's that all of his armor and weapon has changed. That he is now part devine, and the whole time he was being watched by the other Gods in that hall. They tell you that you are not devine, though will be granted great power, people will call you the 10th devine. Though are far from it, you will be there protecter. Or their greatest fear, they then tell you of the threat and what you will be facing.

"The Paragon Ability"

Call upon your devine nature at will, when you do this you are a warrior of light. Your weapons are most of your abilities, though not all. And first person would be optional given you are still technically human.

Weapons

- The Bow of the righteous

- The sword of the Devine

- The mace of the savior

- The axe of the merciful

- And all the two handed weapons, each weapon would have it's own design. And can be accessed from the normal player mode, though their devine powers cannot be accessed unless you take the form of the paragon.

Powers

- Call upon your "Devine Sanctuary" when you are in dire need, surround yourself in the golden aura and bow while your health and other abilities regain again.

- At the cost of half of your health, call upon Healing Grace and heal your allies around you to full health.

Okay guys that's all I have so far, please don't shut this idea down. DIscuss and add to it if you feel is necessary. Thinks guys!

Werebears!!!!! Not a whole DLC focusing on only them (because some people think thats what I mean and I don't) either just maybe as a side quest or meet one in the wild and get infected.

Werebears fit into the lore (the most common Lycanthrope in Skyrim) and there are tales of men that turn into bears in Norse Mythology which fits Skyrim real well.

My Dlc ideas are this, small add- ons like more creating options for your character, example like more tattoo options, eye color options, maybe allow an option to put tattoos, scars & etc. on the body. maybe giving the stormcloaks a heavy armor for players that join the stormcloaks & don't use light armor. & dwemmer light armor. maybe character exclusive groups you can join like if your a redguard & help out the Alik'r you can become a member of the alik'r. or if your a high elf you can become a member of the thalmor. big add- ons. maybe a story dlc on another dragonborn being fond & he must be stop before he destories skyrim or something. ( yeah its easy to see i'm not that good at highly detrailed story ideas ) maybe a fight for skyrim story dlc putting the stormcloaks or the imperials against the thalmor. maybe a story dlc on the psijic order.

anyone found any references to the Knights of the Nine, of then the priest standing in front the Talos statue in Whiterun.
He says the Eight became Nine in one of his rants, the last person to say this was that priest standing outside the temple in Anvil in the Knights of the Nine DLC.

Agreed, don't forget Spears! I want that Giant Mudcrab, if that was in the game I would become King Of Mudcrabs!
