My game keeps crashing and I don't know why.

I don't really have anything running in the background except for maybe my web browser and half the time not even that. I don't do RPG Lp's or anything like that.

Do you have any mods installed?
Do you experience stability problems wihth anything else?

You can try aclean boot to windows and play the game then.

Yeah it seems odd to post "works for me" in a help thread anyways.

Duker5 was who i responding to. This was not directed at anyone else in this thread.

Yeah I do have mods, but I have always turned them off when I am purposely trying to find crashes. Also I have always crashed it seems when entering certain areas (These are natural areas that are found in the game and not mods). I used to crash when spending a lot of caps at one time but the last patch has seemed to fix this.

Have you attempted making exceptions in optional codecs or outright deleting them (Ogg Vorbis, ffdshow etc)

Sorry for sounding like a broken record, but have you tried a clean boot?
Also have you tried a fresh new game (backup your original saves) with all mods disabled. Should use FOMM for this.
Not sure what mods your using, but i wonder if they have corrupted your current save somehow.

Are you booting to windows cleanly as well?
By this i mean disabling all sstartup items and non-MS services in msconfig?
Did you follow the instructions in the link i gave?

Its a known fact ( At least for me, as I have proved the following and got rid of all my CTD's and Freezes ) that Fallout New Vegas does not like Non-Windows Codecs and is not Fully Quad Core Compatible ( Anything more than 2 cores running and you are asking for CTD's - use the fallout 3 multicore .ini fix)

Having said that, even though I no longer have any Freezes and CTD's (Yes, thats what I said, NONE) the game is still so buggy that I have shelved it after 3 patches, as unplayable.

My fault, I guess. I should not have purchased gift wrapped fecal matter with Fallout New Vegas written on the outside of the box.....

Nope and I can play Fallout 3 all day and never have anything happen. But if I try playing new vegas stuff starts getting weird.
