PC gamers unsatisfied...

So I don't actually have Skyrim yet, but I keep seeing all these issues especially with the pc version... not to mention a day 1 patch, which is a pretty bad sign...

What do you guys think?

I have it for PC, I've been playing for 12 hours straight and it runs great. Not sure what all the issues are though. I actually have yet to see a glitch :)

My complaint for PC is that a lot of textures seem to be really low quality. But other than that no bugs or glitches on my system.

The PC version works fine for me. I will admit the UI and menus are quite obviously console ports, BUT that is not a bad thing. I think the menu system is really intuitive. Sure it isn't quite as effective to click in the menu, but what's wrong with WASD + e/tab? I rarely have to move my mouse unless to do something specific, and even then it's all relatively centered. Bugs, quirks, whatever, its like this in every game now. Don't listen to the day 1 whiners. Ever. They are seriously the most pathetic and jaded people in the gaming community. And if you think the game looks less than superb, wait for the texture replacers. Be thankful you went PC and can actually get mods, unlike the consoles.

Well if you are serious TESer, then you will be missing some features here that doesnt have in skyrim. For example, there is no item's durability so nothing will break. Two: there is no strength, agility, etcs status, just plain hack and slash game like Two Worlds Two and Gothic4. So im not so impress with skyrim myself either.

Maybe one day, we will have mods that can increase the realism by ten folds!

Agreed. I'm a PC player and i'm very picky and have been very disappointed with the way the direction PC RPG have gone. Was burned with Two Worlds 2 (loved the first one) got burned with DA2, stopped playing RPG's all together until now. Other than some gripes with the UI (which will be fixed by mods or Bethesda, just be patient) I think Skyrim is a very enjoyable RPG. Just the game I have been looking to play for quite some time and with the nature of TES, a game that I will be playing for quite some time. Overall, well worth the money I spent.

Over 200,000 people are playing Skyrim on Steam right now. Only a dozen or so people are on a forum posting negative things. Do the maths

Aside from weapon durability I completely disagree. Game is fantastic. There is still skills, there just isn't attributes that you have to monitor...

I noticed that as well the textures look dated on a lot of objects. There also seems to be a huge difference in detail, sometimes certain objects seem to have a texture which looks very low res compared to the objects that surround them, for example table tops. Also I explored some tower ruins up the mountains and noticed how the snow texture almost appeared to be white. First I thought it was a bug and the game wasn't rendering the texture but I noticed it as well in other peoples screenshots. Also a lot of the time the use of normal mapping really empathizes the "low polyness" of certain creatures or objects. Graphics wise they made a lot of improvement since oblivion however I have to agree with the article that it somehow visually it feels a bit dated.

Well the streamlining of the attributes isn't necessarily bad, as the TES series has never actually implemented it well, actually Ill go as far as to say that they did it pretty badly, so in my opinion, no character classes fits quite well.

I agree though, all i have been doing is hack and slash ;p

I have been playing skyrim for7-8? on pc hours without any bugs or crashes and only thing i dont like is that some textures are low resi and menus worse than i tought. Otherwise the game is awesome and mods will soon help with my few problems and then it will be near perfection to me.

Title is wrong/misleading. (Both yours and theirs.) It should be "Some PC Gamers Complaining about Skyrim’s Textures, UI, Mouse & Keyboard Support".

I'd like to see these issues addressed like everyone but I'm having a blast playing this game rather than waste my time complaining.

To each their own as "they" say.

How much did item durability and attributes really add to Morrowind & Oblivion though? Especially given the level of micromanagement invoked by the way attributes increased based on skill ups.

But what about exploration? Does Skyrim have some of the depth that Morrowind had (handcrafted detailed world, etc.)?

I hope some of these will see improvements in future patches, hopefully the *dx11* patch that they said they might release, though somehow that doesn't really convince me.

Dunno' about you guys but I'm certainly more than satisfied. And yes, I'm playing the PC version. UI is weird, but nothing gamebreaking. Got no big deal of bugs and glitches either.

PC version could have been more refined to PC, but sincerely anyone expecting something diferent from a full port is a [censored].

That sayd UI is terrible YES, but some few well thought feature would have solved that wothout much thinking, Shame on Bethesda.

But anyway the game is great, you re not gonna have an orgism, but its been great so far.
