iam having problem in starting Revealing the Unseen quest .. from the wikia :

i should finish http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Good_Intentions quest befor i start revealing the unseen, and i had finished befor, and from wikia too i have to talk to http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Mirabelle_Ervine to give me the quest and when i talked to her she just talking about other things and she never talk about the main quest,

any help with this bug guys ? please i need help

I haven't done this quest myself (I have only just started the prior quest 'Good Intentions' in my playthrough, so I am not even at the same stage as you). I searched for information regarding this quest, and I found something that may be useful. Here is the web site.

"After turning in Revealing the Unseen, there's a bug where you do not get the next quest. No known fix. The bug comes when Mirabelle's second dialogue bit in stage 99 is instead the standard conversation options. Nobody acknowledges the events of this quest and even Ancano walks around and talks to you as usual. Some workarounds have been tried but it is not possible to activate the next quest (MG05 - http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Containment) because it is numbered wrongly.

• Update 26/11 21:04 It fixes itself after playing some other quests, not empirically measured, but probably related to in-college quests. Just save before talking to the arch Mage, keep playing other quests and come every now and then to check whether it is fixed. Try also deleting any dragon skeletons that you may have in the college using console command "disable" after clicking them."

From reading this, it sounds like either;
A. the quest is broken and can never be started. Or,
B. the triggering of the 'revealing the unseen' quest is related to the completion of other quests in the college.

Try the following steps;
1. Go back to a savegame before you have spoken to the arch mage, i.e. after you completed 'Good intentions' but before talking to her to get the 'revealing the unseen' quest.
2. If she doesn't give you 'Revealing the unseen' quest, reload the savegame and talk to other NPC's in the college and complete that quest they give you. When completed, save the game and then talk to the arch mage again. If you still don't get the quest, reload your savegame and continue talking to other NPC's in the college.

The idea is, that one of the quests from one of the other NPC's in the college is preventing the arch mage giving you the 'Revealing the unseen' quest. Which particular quest you will need to complete in order to trigger the 'revealing the unseen' quest is likely to depend upon the state of your game, and what quests have already been done. Complete any quests you find from other NPC's, and hopefully you will eventually trigger the 'Revealing the unseen' quest.

i have finished some quests but still not usefull, trying to do more :S

If you keep at it, hopefully one of the college quests will clear your problem. Failing that, the quest may be permanently broken, and can only be fixed by the developers fixing the quest. Based upon the information specified on the uesp web site (the link was in my previous post) it looks like one of the arch mages text's is numbered incorrectly. So, depending upon which quests you have done previously, you will either get the bug or (by performing other quests) you 'may' be able to work around it and avoid the arch mages text that is incorrectly numbered.

iam still doing more quests but still not usefull, u know which quest exactly should be ? or the pepole who may there quest will slove the bug?

Unfortunately, the only information I have is what I found on the link posted on my previous post. If other quests don't solve the problem, you could be in a situation where there is no way around it until the developers correct the problem in the software.

yeah, no more quests in winterhold college i think and still not usefull :S

Sorry to hear that it hasn't worked. I know that this quest line can be completed, as I have seen threads talking about what happens when you complete the college quests. But I guess those players just happened to avoid the bug by performing the college quests in a particular order. What the correct order is to avoid the bug, is unknown as far as I know.

well, that mean i can't finish the college quests :S

and i had sent a massage to bethesda about this bug befor like 4 or 5 days and no replays yet :S

I had an idea last night that 'may' help (I haven't tested this myself). You could try going to "Mzalft" directly and seeing if 'Gavros Plinuius' is there, and talking to him. This way, you 'may' be able to continue the quest without having to talk to Mirabelle to get 'Mzalfts' location. If this doesn't work, then unfortunately, the quest is broken and the only way to fix it is to wait for Bethesda to fix it. Sometimes, there just aren't workarounds for broken software...

I'm not sure when they will fix it. The only info made available regarding quest fixes, is that patches containing quest fixes will be arriving from this month. Patch 1.4 has been announced by Pete Hines, and has said it will be arriving this month. Regarding the content of 1.4, I don't know if it has actually been revealed that 1.4 definitely contains some 'quest' fixes, or whether 1.4 contains only 'software' fixes and consequently patch fixes will begin from patch 1.5. Hopefully, 1.4 will contain some quest fixes.

I HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM. I GOT LIKE 90% THROUGH THE GAME, 170 HOURS GAMEPLAY !!! WAS CHECKING MY GAMERSCORE AND SEE THAT ONE OF THE LAST TO GET WAS ACHEIVEMENTS FOR "REVEALING THE UNSEEN" AND "THE EYE OF THE MAGNUS". UPON GOOGLING THESE ACHEIVEMENTS I REALISED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM, AFTER HUNTING THE SAVE FILES, I WENT BACK LIKE 120 SAVES (!!!!) AND RESTARTED "GOOD INTENTIONS" QUEST. COMPLETED ALL THAT AND SURE ENOUGH THE NEXT QUEST (revealing the unseen) DID NOT START !!! PEED ME RIGHT OFF. SO NOW THE GAME IS DEAD IN THE WATER UNTIL BETHESDA PULL THEIR FINGER OUT AND PATCH THAT PARTICULAR GLITCH.

SOME PEOPLE ABOVE ARE RECOMMENDING TO DO SIDE REQUESTS AND THAT MAY TRIGGER THE "REVEALING THE UNSEEN" QUEST. BEARING IN MIND THAT I HAVE DONE APPROX 60 QUESTS SINCE GOOD INTENTIONS INCLUDING ALL OF THE COLLEGE'S AND ALSO TRIED TO GO BACK (NOT THROUGH SAVE FILES) TO THE COLLEGE TO TRIGGER IT, IT DOES NOT WORK, THE QUEST WILL NOT START, I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING.

guys, anyone know how long do bethesda take to replay on the tech support?

1.4 is supposed to be a big data fix patch, I believe they have it stated on the stickies that there should be quite a few quest fixes but nothing more than that as of yet. Once its put through for cert we should get some patch notes and hopefully they will list what quests were resolved and should be fixed with 1.4

but there's any info about when the update will come?

sometime this month, no exact date yet, they still have 17 days to meet that expectation, last few patches have only taken about 5-7 days to cert
