Give console mods

Post » Sat Aug 25, 2012 7:16 pm

Not sure why console users should be considered not skilled enough to use a command console. Those who are not would simply be afraid to break things and just stay away from it, just like any PC newbie does.

It has less to do with a lack of skill or understanding, and more to do with the closed nature of consoles. You can't manipulate files and installs on consoles the way you can on PC.

I think a very limited command console should be fine. setstage, timescale and so on. Nothing that would eventually break the console itself.

I just want mods and console commands.
For mods I want an ingame menu selection where you get mods
For console commands put a console in the pause screen, for example getting items if bugged, fixing quests.

Console commands could be done...I think.

Mods are a big no-no to Sony and MS.

The command line console isn't just some cheat code entry field. It is a development and debugging tool, and can break your game if you're stupid with it.

You can make a mod on the PC version of Skyrim and run it on your Xbox 360, PS3 users are out of luck because this does not work for them. Many scripting mods should run no problem on the XBOX 360 but forget about using many of the best texture and SKSE mods from the nexus because that will probably destroy your save game
You can also use console commands on a transferred save game and move the file back to the Xbox 360 using a USB, I think this will work but I have not tried it
