GNR ban fans from wearing Slash T-shirts

Wondered if anyone's caught this today? Any thoughts? I'm sure everyone's well aware of Axles attitude now but this is ridiculous even for him. Although it is said in the article that its the bands MANAGEMENT who have issued this policy. So what do we think? Is it the management trying to save fans a 'storming off stage' in an already volatile tour (showing up on stage at 11.15 when they were due off at 11)? OR is it the influence of Axl being childish?

Its literally the most amazingly stupid thing I've seen lately. Keep it clean people don't want any haters abusing die-hard fans keep it within forum etiquette

I never cared and I won't start now. Guns N Roses are not a relevant musical act, they are a bunch of guys milking a dead cow thinking that doing so will sooner or later bring it back to life and make it relevant.

Three Dog is giving concerts?
But...but...Three dog is dead, I personally saw to it.

Never cared for GNR, not even when all my friends were raving about this hot new group wayyyy back in the 80's, but it does seem to go a bit too far.

Three Dog is giving concerts?

Took me a while to realise that Fallout 3's GNR was nothing to do with the band...

I guess this episode is part of Axl's quest to be the biggest egomaniac in rock. Thought he was already there, though.

I love the old band but this new band to me isn't even GNR. With only one original member of the band left out of 5 it is more of a Axl Rose solo project and frankly calling themselves Guns N Roses is disrespectful to the members that came before and helped make GNR the great band they once 'were'.

So, Axl Rose is a massive [censored], does anyone have any other news?

Seriously, if you want Guns N' Roses, go watch Slash instead. Cracking show.

Some bands get attention by making good music.

Other bands get attention by making horrible music.

And then there are bands that get attention by pulling idiotic stunts like this to stay in the news and convince themselves they were ever, and still are, a slight bit relevant.

I think they were relevant back when Appetite came out. After that, not so much.

God I hate Axl Rose. This isn't news though - he's always treated his fans like dirt and acted like a diva.

I meant the original line up from the Appetite album because that was their first and the album that made them possibly the biggest band in the world in the late 80's

Yeah I know, I was joking... I just think it's silly how people fetishize "original" line-ups when nine times out of ten they weren't even the founding members of the band. I mean, I can understand the argument behind saying that GnR isn't the same without Slash, but in a band like that does it really matter who plays drums or bass?

I've never liked Guns 'N Roses though, so what do I know?

It depends I suppose on how much input they had into the actual sound and song writting of the band. Duff (bass) made some good contributions and Izzy (rhythm) made as much cotribution to the band as Slash or Axl especially on Appetite. In the case of GNR it was definetly a case of the whole creating the music rather than one individual

Meh, even then, man. They rocketed to stardom, sure, but their music was never very relevant or inspiring. It was just rock's version of teenage pulp.

I've always been a pretty big GNR fan (Chinese Democracy put an end to that), but you couldn't pay me to go see them live or spend even a minute in Axl Rose's presence. You never know what you're gonna get and it's a shame that such a promising band had such a short run because of it.

Slash is way overrated. Good for Axle/Axl/Axel/Aksel/Axcel. The latter svcks, too. GNR in general is meh.

I like, I think, two? of their songs.

It would seem that GnR is irrelevent given the times. IE: no one really gives a flying f about Axel and GnR they haven't done anything in the past decade so therefore their music and Axel is irrelevant and out of style as is his band and his music. As evidenced by their last album, "Chinese Democracy" where it only sold 261,00 copies in it's first week. And then only 3,200 copies in the US as of April 3rd, 2011. Which means, they svck. Sure the album was certified "Gold" in Canada; but who cares?

For not caring, you sure put a great deal of care into how much you do not care. If you truly didn't care, you wouldn't have made any posts to begin with and just leave the thread instead of bumping it up. But no, you try to make us care about how little you supposingly care? What utter nonsense.
