10,534 or something like that. I wish I could have brought more of them out, I only got four.. :(

I was going to test if it was possible to escape while over-encumbered but I doubt it.. They probably made the bars unable to be grabbed to prevent people from carrying them while running to the exit, lol. I was thinking of trying that.. Now I'm kinda mad cause I can't display them in a pile unless they just happen to drop that way.

It seems the max you can grab is eight (10 Str + Strong Back = 300. Gold Wg 35 x 8 = 280). Kinda disappointing.. That means you have to leave at least 27 of them there! Thats 270,000 Caps!

I got 'em all because restrictions are for losers. Plus knowing that the devs didn't want me to have them, and getting them anyway was satisfying.

Actually, one of the main guys at the Fallout wiki has been taking down the guides on how to get all of the gold bars from the main page. If you don't like it, look on the talk page for gothemasticator (or whatever) and message him, because there are walkthroughs/guides on other pages too, he's just being an ass.

As for the way I did it, here's what I posted for the wiki;

"This will probably take a good amount of tries (and probably a lot of luck). First off, pick up all of the gold bars, and drop them as one unit by the door. Also, make sure to take off your armor and unequip your weapon. Talk to Father Elija, and convince him to meet you face to face. Immediately turn around and as you're walking towards the door, make a save. Immediately open the door and as it's opening, pick up the gold bars. Walk straight out and into the central building, taking an immediate right and then left once inside.. Go to the back until you reach a path leading into Elija's room, and get inside before the shield doors appear. You will need to do some sneaking as you're walking, but I've seen different amounts of it mixed in. I recommend either sneaking once you're inside the middle structure all the way to the end, or once you reach the final back walkway, as these have both gotten me the closest to the door. If he activates the doors, just reload your last save. Once you make it, just go up the elevator, and profit massively. "

Bascially, just sneak once inside. I used http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zk25RKTfTt0 video as a guide, although it's flipped and reversed, so it's pretty damn hard to see, which is why I bothered typing up a guide to help explain it. I did the exact same thing as him, just make sure that you're sneaking once you're on the final little catwalk path thing towards the shield door or else you won't get in. And move as fast as possible, obviously.

I got all the bars first try after viewing a guild on youtube. I dropped C4 to kill the guy. Picked up all the gold and accessed the computer. Then I walked (very slowely btw) over to the force field he was going to come out of. Then when the force field was up I destroyed a turret while making sure I was still up against the force field. At that point the guy turns off the force field for a split second and you get pulled onto the other side. The guy is then svck on the other side of the force field so then I activated the C4 (on very easy to make sure I killed him) then walked to the exit very slowly. And thus I know have all the gold bars and all the goodies I got going through the DLC.
