Good characters to base your character on.

What do you guys think?

If you were making a new character on Skyrim and it was based on someone out of a book or film etc, who would it be?

Conan. But you need discipline to make him true to character.

I made a copy of Fenris from Dragon Age II... sort of.
Lots of dead mages that playthrough.

Mines heavily influenced by Ash in Evil Dead: Army of Darkness with a little bit of Rincewind in there.

Garet Jax (Wishsong of Shannara)
  • Specialize in One-Handed Tree and possibly archery. Generally scrupulous, favors the underdog. Desperate for a challenge)
Pe Ell (Druid of Shannara)
  • Good for a Dark Brotherhood build. Assassin. Selfish. Deceitful. Would favor sneak and dagger (the Stihl... and for the love of god enchant it with Soul Trap)
Sandor Clegane (A Song of Ice and Fire)
  • Selfish, cunning, ruthless, heavy armor and sword/shield or two-hander
al'Lan Mandragoran (The Wheel of Time)
  • The king of an extinct (nearly) people. Basic warrior, but incredibly competent.
Haplo (The Death Gate Cycle)
  • Patryn agent (be sure to grab a faithful dog companion)
Dexter Morgan (Dexter ... for grins)
  • Dress up in a suit of guard armor during the day... do what you feel you need to do at night.
Naturally, the more stuff you read and enjoy, the more ideas you can come up with. I can heartily recommend any of the source material above (though you might want to bail on Dexter after season two...)

Strider - Ranger

1 Hand, Archery, Stealth with Restoration, Light Armor and Block. Typical hybrid build that mixes ranged with melee along with restoration for healing spells, block and light armor for defense.

Rutger hauer's character off the movie "Salute of the Jugger"

The Dragonlord Drakkin-korin with his black and orange tiger armour from the book series "The Riftwar saga" by "Raymond E Feist" 1982

"Pug the magician" out of the same series

"Jimmy the hand" the young hapless thief that helps to save the world.same series

"Prince Arutha" The dark haired hero. same series

"Guy du Bas tyra" this guy is a nord. again same series.

"Lyam the ranger",same again

Love that series, was sick of hobbits before dire straits made the first cg graphics blended music video.

"Kaladin,a normal man born with the power of the storm like that of the ancient Knights Radiant, coupled with a knights radiant armour that is impervious against all but radiant weapons he becomes an unstoppable force. "Brandon Sandersons" Stormlight archive series 2010

"Szeth, an unwilling thief/assasin born with the same power but was trained in it's use but forced to do evil for whoever holds his Oathstone. same series.

Loved the Riftwar saga, and Jimmy would certainly be fun to play.

Also, David Eddings' "The Elenium" has some pretty sweet characters (though in my opinion, they're all a little OP). All the same, I think Bevier was my favorite. Be polite, speak softly, and carry a huge friggin' axe...

Roran Stronghammer, cousin of Eragon Shadeslayer  he is definitely my favorite character in those books

He would actually be very fun to role-play too, wield a mace and shield or just a warhammer, and no looking at road markers since he can't read

Speaking of David Eddings..... How about Althalus? He practically seems made for this sort of world.

Though not quite as much as Gemmel's Druss the Legend... or Regnak from the first book.

Little odd, but I've had some success with a Harry Dresden homage from Dresden File's. Keeping the 7 laws isn't all that hard. The big thing is adapting him to Skyrim's setting. I'm still not sure if I should play him like actual book Harry, sent to Skyrim, or just another guy that hits a lot of the same notes.
