Graphical issue (grain or parasite)

Post » Thu Dec 02, 2010 7:45 am

its easter they will probably be having a holiday like the rest of you

They've been on a "holiday" since this bug was an issue. Having heard from either of them (Adam) only once through this entire ordeal is unacceptable. This is a serious bug that cannot just be swept under the rug. This bug should be at the top of their list across ALL platforms considering they are really trying to break in with the console crowd and for the simple fact that Crytek is known for its graphical prowess. There's just no way around this....it's a bad situation and not a good way to break in with the console crowd especially when you don't communicate with them.

This bug only affects the Xbox 360 version which makes it all the more frustrating. The PS3 and the PC platform both have working graphics.

Exactly! This bug only affects the Xbox 360 version which is just beyond frustrating. Again as I said....

This specific grain bug which only affects the 360 version should take precedence over whatever unique problems are affecting ps3 and pc owners. Why? Because as I said before there is no hiding from it and it's there for everyone to see. It's as simple as that. However I'm getting this unsettling feeling that they don't know how to fix it. Hope I'm wrong.

I found this quote from Adam in the "Multiplayer balance changes" thread so maybe MAYBE there's some hope that the graphics fix will be included in this patch? Or is it wishful thinking?

I don't have any information regarding console patches right now but i can tell you that patches for the 360 and the PS3 are in the works. As previously stated, this is something we could do separately to a patch and of course we wish for you guys to have the best experience as soon as possible so in conjunction with the patch development, we also did these weapon tweaks.

Cheers!

I thought the game looked a little fuzzy. I get the "film grain" look too. I just thought that was part of the look, you know, like in Mass Effect and L4D2. Except you can turn it off in Mass Effect and L4D2.

I'm running it on a 40" Samsung (LN40B550) 60hz 1080p with VGA.

Same here, i thought that the game has film grain as ME2 but without the optional thing.
I found strange that later on the game i start seeing this film grain more and more and i didn`t notice when i start the game.

Then i found this thread and others on others forum and i restart the game and viola, no Film grain at all.

Until i reach Gaul`s apartment. In my case it kick in there. i stop the game, reload and same thing.. no Film grain until i got attack on Gauls apartment.

I refuse to keep playing this game with this graphical Bug. So i stopped playing it until they fix this. If they don`t fix this on the next patch i`ll just sell the game. I really like the game but this Grain totally take me out of the mood to play.

I guess they're just gonna leave their game broken.

It's obvious they couldn't care less about the console gamers.

They already have their money and they've done there little "weapon balancing fix" for multiplayer. This is probably all the effort were gonna see.

It's been over a month and nothing has been done to fix this, hell, they've barely even acknowledged there IS a problem.

Sadly.....I think it's time to move on.

If they dont fix this im gonna sell it and get medal of honor lol. I only want the BF3 beta thats coems with it, but what an insult to crytek that would be. Trading in their so called "awesome" game for a badly reviewed one.

This is true...I've been visiting these forums everyday since launch hoping there would be statements of progress on things like this 'grain bug'...nothing...after all this time I'm afraid that they're just waiting for the outspoken people to just shut up and move on so they wont need to fix it.

I know EA pushed this game out too fast...and Crytek probably did the best they could in the allotted time. This is still a very very shameful release and a major blow to the franchise.

Crytek if you can fix the major issues soon than Kudos to you, I will enjoy the game then. Otherwise, I'm moving on and not looking back. There are a slew of triple A titles coming this year with far better developer support...I've even gone back to RedDead:Redemption...to my surprise that game's online component is flourishing with next to no bugs (open world ta boot)....I may hop onto Battlefield:BC2/vietnam *cough*(dedicated servers)*cough*

CRYTEK...PLEASE FIX THE 'GRAIN BUG'.

Still no updates from Crytek? Ugh! This is pathetic! How is it that support from Crytek has gotten worse as they get older and make new games? There was more communication and support for Farcry. This is pathetic for lack of a better word.

Well I had enough. Earlier today I went to Gamestop and convinced the manager to swap my 360 copy for a ps3 copy. Good luck to you guys still holding out. Watch, with my luck a patch will be out this week that fixes it lol.

Ya know I have to wonder if EA didn't have their grubby hands on Crytek would this game have been more polished when it was released. Crytek isn't making themselves look good here but I really can't stand EA.

I dont think that we are talking about ''a bad batch of discs'' (and honestly I dont care, I am a customer and I demand for a proper product, if it is the disc, I just want a refund). Many people have the same problem and either way Crytek ought to fix this.

62 pages so far and I see only hypothesis on what this thing might be... I am not even in the mood to speak about this problem any more. Moreover the grain thing is not the only glitch...the game is full of bugs and since the release, the support has been trully horrible...If you run a quick search in this forum the only thing that you can experience is countless problem reports with no answers or feedback from the support team.

Congratullations Crytek... You really know how to treat your customers...

Ok last night my crysis 2 got so bad that it became a white background with a bunch of different sized balls and in another online play i tried i couldnt move at all and it looked like every one was just falling through a hazy sky. Before this happened it had that weird patchy looking blocks of color, that made everything appear to have a kaleidoscope effect in spotty areas. It would then also affect my campaign game if i tried that as well:( Do i need to take my game back or is this a problem with the game and it needs a patch? I am very upset and before last night it had worked fine.

The patch released today, while fixing many things, did not fix the dreaded grain glitch. I guess I have to continue to bump this thread. :/

I tested the patch in the SP and it's not fixed. Played from beginning, was going good, didn't happen until half way through chapter 4 as usual. Everything else they did with the patch is great, but they didn't fix this bug unfortunately.

like i said some people arnt experiencing the glitch anymore in places the had it before so for them its fixed and like ive said before ive never even had the glitch so they must be an underlying factor here like a bad batch of coding on the discs or something.which needs to be fixed for some and not for others

Not fixed. A save I had with the grain is still borked and a newly started game went grain about 30 min in.
I can't believe Crytek right now. No info leading to this patch and here we have the patch and it did nothing related to the grain glitch. Anyone who thinks it's been fixed will get hit with it in time.
