LOL. It's funny this topic was made, when just a day ago, I made post stating I was the only one here that listens to VGM.

Oh god..OH GOD.

My list is LONG. Currently I am spamming the Musou Orochi 2 OST. But some of my favorites are:

Parasite Eve 1/2
Final Fantasy VIII
Chrono Cross
Legend of Legaia
Vagrant Story

As a matter of fact, the Parasite Eve OST was the first one I owned, given to me by a good friend.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78_lHWjLLCk

And out of all of them, I tend to spam, "Image of Hero"(the theme that plays when you're making a character) and "Weird Night"(the latter being the halloween theme)

I really enjoyed listening to Fallout 3's soundtrack. Three Dog made it even better. New Vegas had an ok soundtrack, but Mr. New Vegas was a joke and the soundtrack was way to short. NV was a much better Fallout game and RPG though, full of rich content, characters, choices, etc.

Other than Bethesda's games, I love Jeremy Soule's soundtracks for the Guild Wars series, especially Prophecies and Nightfall.
I also really enjoyed the Mass Effect music, particularly ME2.

Rock-wise, the Vampire: TMB soundtrack was a lot of fun.

I actually didn't care for Three Dog and liked Mr. New Vegas. For me Three Dog was a cliche DJ character, while Mr. New Vegas was intentionally cliche and at times actually creepy.
  • It's me again, Mr. New Vegas, reminding you that you're nobody 'til somebody loves you. And that somebody is me. I love you.
  • Ladies and gentlemen, you're listening to me, Mr. New Vegas, and you look extraordinarily beautiful right now.
Those two always cracked me up...and made me feel a little dirty.

I also liked Tabitha's broadcast. There just wasn't enough of it.

Some of my favoritie soundtrack are from old SNES games. Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy VI, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Soul Blazer are some of my favorites. More modern games would be Morrowind, all the Guild Wars games, and Bastion. Dragon Age Origins also had a great soundtrack as well.

The sim city series is pretty awesome. Sim city 3000 and SC4. The next game looks to have great music as well based on the tech videos. On that note, I need to add some of the music from the sims 1 actually - from the same composer (Jerry Martin).

The opera-esque of the Hitman videogames made it just that much better.

Pulling one from the old list:
Shatterhand
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ty8fdeMsakI&feature=related

And a bunch from the new list:
Jim Guthrie's stuff in Sword & Sworcery is fantastic
Tomá? Dvo?ák's Machinarium soundtrack is superb
Danny Baranowsky in Super Meat Boy and Binding of Isaac always make it on to a running mix
I'll get another vote in for Disasterpiece (Rich Vreeland) in Fez, because that soundtrack is awesome

There was a great Indie Game Music Bundle (http://www.gamemusicbundle.com/) that I'm glad I picked up on.

Easily one of the best, if not the best, soundtracks I've ever heard. I play it regularly.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSsfjHCFosw

Of course, a masterpiece of a soundtrack. Once again, probably the best I've ever heard (so its a throw down between the two)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiYowD-Qw5o

Half Life's tracks get me going every time I hear them. They're totally perfect and really are excellently done.

Of course, anything from Ocarina of Time, one of the most legendary soundtracks ever. Halo is also totally awesome, the orchestral versions just blow my socks off.

There's really too many great soundtracks to point out, these are but a few.

Now that's a blast from the past! I loved that game.I remeber there was one boss i could only beat by getting a certain support bots twice in a row. If i failed i had no hope defeating it. Good times

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eccn6Ah9ZYI was another NES game i loved with great music.

More recently, the new musics http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wn54lCOq6pI are again amazing, but as it's still in the beta no one has uploaded them to youtube yet :hehe:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cFIa29FXfM&feature=relmfu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbbUv1hz6mE&feature=relmfu. So soothing for a game about blowing space pirates up with the big gun you have for an arm.

Anyone remember http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B41jlZlLy_U&feature=relmfu?

X3: Reunion
Thief 1-3
Mount and Blade
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
Silent Hill 2 (plus all the rest in that series but esp 2)
The Fatal Frame series ( including all the incidental and utterly creepy sound effects)
Not really a big fan of Jeremy Soule but there are some great bits in Skyrim
Gothic 3
The Witcher
Myst 4: Revelations

Fallout 3's music, IMO, was expertly picked and fit the theme well. All the songs just...fit. I don't think I can say the same for NV. For music music, I would say Goldeneye had some really good ones. I bet I'm going to get flamed for this, but I really enjoyed the soundtrack in both World at War and Black Ops. This one was pretty memorable IMO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uT0hrTMc7WA

I really loved Oblivion's. Nothing beat just being in the wilderness on a dark and stormy day, pouring rain and listening to Auriel's Ascension. On the topic of TES, both the Morrowind and Skyrim themes are of excellent quality. Sure, you can't really compare the two as they seem polar opposites, but both are great.

Nnnnnooooooooooo! :brokencomputer:

I played EU2 so much I had to edit the playlists to remove falalalan. In fact, I think I edited the game to play only music from 18th century, which had all sorts of gems (Falalalan was 15th c.)
