Halo and CoD are a joke

Halo Wars however was bad.

Tbh, I like Halo Wars a lot... Then again, I'm a fan of those types of games as well.

Instead of the constant circlejerk about which games svck, why not make posts about games you actually, you know, like?

Or even, y'know, explain why the ones you don't like svck. Instead of just posting "They're a joke. They should not make them anymore."

CoD is a bloody great game, I dont care what you sods think. From an economist point of view, its great. Its got campaign, mp and a side mode. Thats better than what most 5 hour craptastic shooters have to offer(sometimes with a shoehorned MP). If CoD only had maybe 5% of its popularity, it would be hailed as a light shining in darkness since its not popular.

Killzone 3 is kinda like a space call of duty I know it's off topic. I guess people are to impatient to play tactical strategic games like Rainbow six Vegas 2 or end war.

I used to be a fan, but I find them both a little dull now; Halo not as much though. Halo at least tries to have a decently interesting story. Plus the actual mechanics of the shooting in each series is pretty amazing.

All of the COD games started feeling the same after 4. My favourite Halo is definitely ODST, its story felt the most personal to me and a saturation of Firefly actors is always a plus. I can't really bring myself to hate Halo Wars though, it was even more simplistic then a C&C game though I had more fun with it then any other console RTS. Plus I can't really bring myself to hate anything that was made by Ensemble Studios.

Not necessarily. It is a different genre and its just not as popular. People may prefer real time strategy to turn based strategy but t necessarily because they aae impatient. Its a known fact that tactical shooters tend tbe unforgiving and or slow paced.

It's popular because (flame suit on) you don't have to think or put effort into any of it and can still come out feeling like a bad ass. That and it's the hip hoppenest game as in "Ur a [censored] if you dun lik COd lulz" logic of my generation.

The games are all nearly the same with minimal effort. It's a corporations wet dream.

Halo 1-3 were awesome. Halo ODST -Reach were okay.
Call Of Duty 1-4 were okay. Call of Duty 4-13 were lame.
My opinion.

Also, Halo 4 is supposed to be good.

Maybe they are doing something right? Not every game should be an effort to get into, and many games have high barriers of entry. Sometimes at the end of the day, you need to shoot people, and lots of them. Games like Arma 2 arent exactly the go to games for that. Also, I find the true to be opposite of your quote. "Ur a [censored] if you lik COd lulz" is extremely rampant. As an intelligent sod who likes intelligent role playing games and deeply values stories a tad more than gameplay, I take offence when people assume Im a mindless drone who drinks the corporate Slurm.

I feel like it's not COD that's terrible, but just the majority of people who play it.
I think the multiplayer is very entertaining, the only thing that ruins that experience for me are people who troll
I'd love to meet a group of individuals who actually play the objective and not just play with random 10 yr olds
it can definitely improve on its weaknesses and strengths.

as for halo, I liked the multiplayer in reach, but it felt unbalanced
Halo 3 was fun.
Halo 4 seems like a step towards Cod, but ill give it a try.

MW2 in itself was bad. Every CoD since CoD4 has been more or less a carbon copy of CoD4 with a few gimmicky features, some new levels, KILLSTREAX, and guns.

Wait, how did you get Halo 4 early? You must have gotten it early right? I mean, why else would you be talking so poorly about it? Can you give me some details on to why it's so bad? sarcasm/

I disagree Halo CE was awesome and the rest have been okay. If 343 stays true to their promises about stories, then I suspect that Halo 4 will be good.

From what I've seen Halo 4 has been received well by the critics. And CoD is consistently one of the best selling games annually. If they were doing something wrong people wouldn't buy it. If I'm running a business and I can sell a game every year by tweaking it slightly, I would make the same decisions.

Don't like CoD after CoD 4. Same game. Not much a fan of Halo games. They've gone downhill since the first and this whole planned till Halo 9 thing just means they will milk out junk.

With both they're obviously milking it, but I don't blame Halo as much, because at least each game is more spaced out, has a decent story each time, and is different enough to be called a new game. Didn't change the multiplayer much between 3, ODST and Reach though. That Halo RTS was a pure joke though.

That doesn't really define milking. I disagree on the multiplayer bit as well. They can only change up the multiplayer so much unless they go with an ENTIRELY different system, and I think Halo 4 has enough "innovation" in the series' multiplayer.

And IGN gave Halo 4 an 9.8?

Ahhahaa. What a complete moron that reviewer was.

So you've played Halo 4 already?

Yeah. Plus a "Thanks for trying to sort it" would have been nice - next time I will just leave it.

Thank you :D

Why stop at Halo 3? It was nice to see the fall of Reach and Earth through video games. Halo Wars however was bad.

MW should have stopped at MW1, who would want to buy the same game three times?

I liked Halo Wars. It was a solid console RTS, with my only gripe being the population limits. I seriously hate those in RTS's, to the point where I won't buy a game if it has a limit.

In some of them the limit can be a bit too constricting, but if you don't have one then there's no real strategy to winning. All you need to do is spam units, whereas with a population limit you have to think about what type of army to build. Its actually one of the reasons why I lose interest quickly whenever I play C&C games nowadays.

I see your point. But in a game like Halo Wars where I can build like, 3 tanks and two squads and then my population is maxed out, it gets ridiculous.

Yeah, I have to admit, I like the population limit for the reason The Lobotomite gave, but that is a pretty small amount, I'm guessing it was supposed to be focused on multiplayer, that way you can have three specialized armies that would make a regular (for an RTS) sized army.

Even with Halo Wars population, there are some OP problems... Seriously, in one game I was spamming scarabs (With having 5 out at a time)...

Agreed. These milked out franchises have become embarrassing. They're way past their time. Pull the plug guys nobody cares anymore.
