Halo and CoD are a joke

Post » Sun Nov 04, 2012 10:31 am

Why couldn't they just stop at Halo 3 and MW2? Way to destroy something that was good in the first place.

I rather like what Valve has done with Half-Life. Even though they never will release the conclusion to the story, it's far better than another [censored] sequel.

CoD though... Not a fan of CoD.

With both they're obviously milking it, but I don't blame Halo as much, because at least each game is more spaced out, has a decent story each time, and is different enough to be called a new game. Didn't change the multiplayer much between 3, ODST and Reach though. That Halo RTS was a pure joke though.

As for MW, they should have moved on after CoD 4 but that formula clicked, and they've been sticking to it since, churning out a new one every year.

Edit: How in blue hell did Frodo get up there?

Wth frodo? Lol

And I disagree. Some games still have a high demand. These are multiplayer focused games. The single player is not really the main focus so story continuity and integrity are not their main concern. However the stories for both game series still had things that needed to be wrapped up and neither of them were completely horrid.

Well...

Both are franchise zombies so... yeah. Seriously. Chief's story was over and it ended perfectly.

And IGN gave Halo 4 an 9.8?

Ahhahaa. What a complete moron that reviewer was.

Suddenly I'm the OP. Woo! So yeah, discuss?

This happens when the time on one of the servers is slightly different to the rest and the post order gets mixed a little. Sorry OP apart from closing the topic there is not much we can do.

Why stop at Halo 3? It was nice to see the fall of Reach and Earth through video games. Halo Wars however was bad.

MW should have stopped at MW1, who would want to buy the same game three times?

Heh, I had a play and the forum software allowed me to do it - the old software wouldn't allow the first post in a topic to be deleted. Live and learn eh?

You are back as the OP. although it still says it was started by Frodo.

Well I got all three(I never bought MW3, it was bought for me), and had lots of fun with each one and each one did something a little different. I don't want them to change the formula too much for multiplayer. Nor do most of their fans. Small changes and basic improvements though? Yes. Which is what they have been doing. Though the yearly release thing is bogus. Each game releases every two years. There are two dev teams working on each CoD game. I am not even a big CoD fan. The internet rage at them is just hilarious though.

As for Halo, well Halo 3's Legendary Ending indicated his story was to continue and if you payed any attention to the other parts of the story there was quite a lot of stuff that was unresolved and given the books a 4th game was inevitable. Btw, Halo Wars was fun for some people...not the hest RTS but it was decent for a console RTS.

I am mostly playing devil's advocate here though. I think CoD should release one of it's installments every two years. Meaning each dev spends 3-4 years on development. They pump them out far too quickly.

Well, the first one had a pretty decent plot. Sadly they didn't keep that going in the second one, but there you go.

Naw, they're fun games if you like multiplayer and the single player in Halo is decent too if you're into the story as much as I am. Sure the release cycle for CoD is pants but nobody is forced to buy it.
I just wish they would release Halo for PC again. It always was my favorite game for multiplayer but I rarely play xbox anymore.

Frodo = Anonymous.

Now that that's settled, back to the far less exciting reason for why this thread exists: The topic.

Hmm. CoD's feel like large expansion packs nowadays tbh, they are so similar. As for Halo, I played one of the newest ones for a while, Reach I think it was called?, and I wasn't impressed.

So, the last poster will appear as the OP in the forum view. This thread should be archived as an oddity in the BSGF space-time continuum, to be thoroughly studied and anolyzed by the future generations...

Oh yeah and I only played the first HALO on PC, liked it very much. Solved half the battles with sticky grenades and plasma guns. Pew pew!

To be fair, I didn't like Reach all that much either. It was too different from Halo 3 imo. I didn't necessarily like the changes.
