Happiest moment of 2011 for You

August 22nd was when I met my girlfriend. That was the best of 2011 for me.

Best moments:
-In May, moving out of my first-year uni flat back home for summer. I absolutely hated that place. My flatmates were disgusting pigs who kept me awake all night with their noise. I used to trek 60 miles home every single weekend so I could get some sleep. I've got a much better place now, lovely and quiet and tidy.
-As strange as it sounds, my birthday last summer- crying alone over a tiny chocolate cake in a freezing cold tent at a festival. This was good because later that night I got to see Alice Cooper and System of a Down live, and having a crappy time earlier in the day meant this was one of the best nights of my life. Got to look at the good side eh?

A bad point, but kinda a good one too:
-After some advice from you lot on these forums about the guy I'd liked for a while, I decided to go for it and JAHO. Crushing rejection followed when I was friend-zoned. I've since discovered he's actually a bit of an ass, so I don't mind the rejection.
I guess I have to say thanks to you lot. If I'd never asked him out and been rejected, I couldn't have moved on. I'll be JAHO-ing a lot more with future crushes, it's a very quick and easy way of finding out where you stand.

EDIT- oh and who can forget Skyrim?! November was the best month.

Hmmm. That's a tough one - 2011 wasn't a great year for me. Not that it was a bad year, just that I can't really think of any standout moments.

Graduation? Nah.

First proper job? Nah.

Probably the day when my girlfriend actually seriously agreed to moving in with me on a permanent basis (albeit at a point in the future once she's finished uni), and we started seriously looking at flats and putting aside money for a deposit.

Only about 15 months to go...

Awesome. :foodndrink:

My girlfriend is finished her Masters this summer, and we plan on moving in together properly (i.e. permanently, we've lived together on and off before) then. I have a feeling that this will be my happiest moment of 2012. :)

My first week at University was probably one of the best of my life, let alone 2011.

However despite this, it was still the worst year of my life to date.
Let's hope that 2012 is much more awesome. ^_^

The fact that 2011 ended. Too bad another [censored] year started.

Oh, was that too negative for you? Tough. Go change your diaper and get off my post.

The highlight of my year has been reading The Tallest's posts on BGSF. They're always so happy and joyful. :)

Well, if; "Happiest Moment of 2010" was asked I would've said "The day my daughter was born on February 2nd."

But as it were, I've had a rough 2011 and I don't see 2012 being any better. So yup, I'm not the happiest little camper. I could also care less if anyone on the interwebz likes me or not.

Tallest, I want to write a serious reply to you. I appreciate that you've had a tough year, but we're only 15 days into 2012 and it seems you've already written the entire year off. Instead, why don't you take a look at everything in your life that isn't going to plan, pull out those things that you have control over, and actively try to change them. While I know there are plenty of things that happen in our lives that we can't influence, there are also plenty of things that we can. Adopting an entirely negative attitude isn't going to help you have a good year in any way, so maybe it's worth trying a different approach?

By the way, I know you didn't ask me for advice, but you can't post such negative posts and not expect somebody to comment.

I have no problem with people posting. Especially when it's done in a manner such as yours. I appreciate it.

I had some fantastic times at the Roskilde festival 2011, just getting lost in the music, dancing and singing. And riding rollercoasters with good friends in august. I guess maybe the rollercoasters win it :)

Saddest day is easy: breaking up with girlfriend, just like every second post in this thread :) You get sad, then you do crazy stupid stuff for a while, then you lighten up.

I moved in with my girlfriend in October. We had only been dating 3 months. Have to say it was a great decision. We bug eachother all the time about annoying things we do, but overall, it's not bad.

When my girlfriend moved in (its a long drawn out story that will surely cause a flame war), and when my elder sister had her first child.

I honestly can't say. Not that it was some super depressing horrible year for me. I just don't remember much from it, and not in a drunken haze kind of way either. Between university and work it's just an endless blur. I've quit my job though, just going to work during the summer break, unless I find a job on weekends only. So hopefully this year will be a lot less of a tired haze.

Best thing that happened last year, it's got to be getting Skyrim and the fact that I was able to save a lot of money for the future.

When I aced the driving school test (still have to wait to get my provisional). What a [censored] year, hope this one will be better, already is looking that way but I'd rather not have my hopes crushed too badly.

Wait no, getting a job and the chance to spend all that hard-earned dough on what I wanted, good times... still wasn't good as I wish it had been though.

2011 wasn't really a good year for me. It wasn't terrible but not good either.

I suppose I got asked out for the first time...

February was cool, I went to Queensland, Australia to see the floods first hand while also visiting my friends.

I don't know why but I have a feeling that 2012 will be great year for me. That's only blind optimism though. Maybe I'll finally build up enough courage to ask my crush out before I graduate at the end of the year.
