Happy Valentine's Day!

I never really cared about valentines day. It is a good excuse for eating candy and ice cream in the middle of the week, though :)

Heh, of course not, that just sounded like outright hate

I see no signifigance in any holiday bar it as being a day off work/school.

What gave it away? It was "loathe" wasn't it? It was too much. I knew it. :o.

Thar's a bit subjective don't you think? Me, personally; I absolutely LOATHE this wretched holiday. I find it to be a complete and total waste of time and money and all of those happy couples make me sick; if I could do anything to ruin this day for anyone I will. As for if I'm doing anything special this day? No. I'm doing the same thing I do every day. I'm working. Then, when I get home my wife is going to work. I won't even get to see her until tomorrow. I can't afford to buy her anything or do anything for her. I've never liked this holiday and I can't wait for the day it just disappears.
Thats what people around here call, "being a dike".

So what if they are hapy, thats no excuse to hate them. And ruining their happiness for no damn reason, thats just dikeish.

I agree its a waste f mney though, but at this point what holiday isnt ?
Christmas is commercialised as [censored], easter has them tryingto sell easter eggs, haloweenn has costumes and candy, fireworks day. Woo some catholic nutjob was stopped, and killed hundreds of years ago. Why should I waste money exactly ?

They are if you have atleast 1 hand.

Not that I have an issue debating the benefits of hokers. But why are we talking about hokers ?

I think you have some kind of tragic past with this day that you are not telling us about. :P

I just never really think about it. I'd probably do something on Valentine's day, if I had a bird. Alas, I do not, therefore I am cooking dinner for my family and doing some reading. Pumpin' to da max.

I'll be finishing off a bottle of jagermeister and my last 2 beers, alone, to celebrate.

Actually Dear Esther just came out, I'll be playing that.

If I remember it was the 3rd grade for my first valentine. She got sick on me. Too much candy I reckon.

To this day it's chocolates and roses by courier, with various excuses to work late. As anyone could imagine I haven't had a solid relationship in many years.

Today it looks like it's just me, Heineken, Lydia, and The Reach.

You just made me remember the one Valentine's Day I actually put effort into. I did it once... in 3rd grade, too... and it worked out disastrously. I wonder if that's why I haven't made a big deal out of it since...

Nah. Truth is, it's exhausting to have to find a good place, book it in advance, hunt down the perfect gifts, be hyper romantic, etc. No one is worth that! :D

Yeah, I get it. I'm a cynical jerk. Not everything is rainbows and ponies and happiness. Sorry I don't fit into your category.

On a related note, I got my son some Legos and my daughter a Hello Kitty doll and my wife a card and single rose.

I still hate this holiday.

By the way, I get I'm cynical but don't mistake my cynicism for anger. Im not angry right this moment. And yes, i do have a sense of humor. Im actually in a pretty good mood today.

I bought myself a tub of Ben and Jerry's ice cream and I intend to watch Star wars because I am a cliché

I bought myself Fallout 3 and I'll enjoy shooting up some Raiders tonight hahahaha

Happy V-Day everyone!

I find it funny how you seem to completely ignore posts in favour of your own presumptions. When in actuality he happens to like a lot of things but happens to not like Valentines day. How very convenient.

LOL, well I do like Fallout, Skyrim, Oblivion, my daughter( she is super wiggly), my wife, my son, my coal stove, burning coal, video games, my truck, women, everyone on here (even the people who don't like me), gamesas, Obsidian (though not their current project), Star Wars... the list does go on. But enough thread jacking...

Anyway no I can't say I'm doing anything for as I have taken to calling it commercialized mating season day. It doesn't really interest me for a number of reasons but prime amongst them I don't much care for the notion that one should spend to keep his/her significant other appeased on one particular day of the year.
