I'm not excessively lazy, but I do procrastinate and day-dream a lot. I remember my first grade teacher told my mom that she noticed that - guess Mrs. Forrester at McKinley Elementary School had my number at age six!

The USMC beat it out of me.
Have you ever dragged a Humvee uphill?

Not recently, no. Though I have considered adding it to my morning warm-up.

Laziness is a rather large issue of mine.

I find it hard to finish many things that

A better question would be "are you ever not too lazy?"

Luckily, I seem to be getting out of this funk bit by bit. I've been going to the gym regularly, going rockclimbing 1-2 times a week, actually following through on plans I make with friends. Whereas before I couldn't be bothered to return calls, answer texts, etc.

EDIT: My tip on how to beat it would be stay busy. The saying goes "If you want something done, ask someone who is busy to do it." They know how to manage their time, stay on task, etc. Once you make yourself busy, it becomes much easier to stay that way.

To paraphrase a favorite religious quote of mine: "It is much easier to stay [busy] 100% of the time, than it is to stay [busy] 99% of the time"

That's funny. The USN beat it into me.

Have you ever taken 4 hours to sweep one hallway with a dust mop?

I was going to post in here earlier, but I was genuinely too lazy to (too lazy to post, even... it's true). I'm always lazy... always procrastinating and never wanting to do anything. It's even extended to being too lazy to do things I enjoy (such as playing games), or eating, or going to the bathroom. So yeah, I've got a severe case of laziness... funny thing is that I think most people are pretty lazy. An overwhelming majority of people in my courses (AP courses, at that) spur my thinking of such a thing.

Working and going to school is hard.... I get home from work and I'm way too lazy to even want to attempt homework.

That is EXACTLY what I am talking about! I get home and I just do not want to do anything.
So anyway, how many hours do you work?

FT student is pretty much an overtime job on it's own, considering the hours spent in class/doing homework each week.

I work about 36 hours a week combining them all, but sometimes (rarely) more. And I agree that a full time student is pretty tough, even though what I'm doing isn't nearly the amount of some people I know. I honestly don't know how they can function!

Too often, I sometimes just can't be bothered even to go and get something to eat. I'd instead just sit around moaning I'm hungry

Heh.. I was doing that while watching the Cleveland show. Stupid show by the way don't watch it. I finally got my butt out of bed and went to Dell Taco. It took SEVERAL attempts but I obtainted nurishment satisfaction in the end.

Would be nice if we could all just sit and be lazy all day. But no this society we created for ourselves dictates that we MUST work and we MUST pay to live.

Ya who are the idiots that started that? I'd like to go back in time and introduce them to the internet. I might be burned at the stake though for practicing witch craft...

I've always said, getting up and getting started on something takes the most effort. Once you're going...it's easier to do. Just get up, wash your face, get some coffee or tea and seize the day. You may never pass this way again so don't miss it.

The love of your life might be just down the road at starbucks...go just in case and while you are there have some banana bread and an a latte.

But yeah, I often have to force myself to just get up and get started.

Honestly, it worked. Today I just started my essay, and I got 2 out of 3 pages written, polished, and college worthy. haha Then my motivation took a plunge when I remembered that I needed a brain break before work..

Procrastination is like masterbation, in the end you are only screwing yourself.

If you're talking about procrastination, then yes, I'm somewhat of an expert. Probably the best in the world in fact.

I'm actually posting this to avoid doing an essay.
