Oh dear. Please either rethink or revise your sixist comment.

I believe the role of this dlc is to give console gamers more of a connection to the individual home/fortress building side of modding that pc gamers have access to. For people arguing that mods are way better etc., please take in mind that consoles are limited by their hardware and that we should be thankful we are getting the opportunity to build.

Your disappoint is purely fueled by the fact you were expecting a huge major story-line addition. Considering it is only 400mp, I believe it is a nice addition to the game, giving the opportunity to be a bit more creative and have further immersion to the RP element of Skyrim.

I am sorry.... I don't know any guys that play Skyrim that told me they want to play martha stewart...... I want to fight dragons... and do other cool stuff... Its fine... Kind of a sim element i guess... Althoguht I never played sim games... This is one DLC I think I will live iwthout

So don't buy it and stop worrying about what other people want. I really don't see the point of this thread.

Well... its only 5 $.. or going to be... I would really like to see a DLC that involves the thelmore and either helping them or removing them from skyrim..... I would remove...

Save Thalmor for another game.

And i personally think Mods ruin the game. Only mods i would get is. Eat/Sleep/Drink and Maybe Weather Mod too.

And you are right not everyone has access to mods.

Right, I am sure Xbox 360 and PS3 users would agree with you.

This is more of a global comment, but the dismissive "mods will fix it" response is very tiresome - and I am exclusively a PC gamer who uses mods. But I read stuff and can see which platforms sold the most units. And it wasn't PC. So, you know, I'm delighted that not only will I get to play a cool DLC and build a house and mess around when I feel like it, taking a break from adventure questing - but so will a LOT of other people for a change.

Perspective, folks.

When you think about it, Heartfire packs into one DLC most of the features that all the house DLCs had in Oblivion. Despite house mods being commonplace on Nexus, we still ALL used Frostcrag spire, the Vile Lair, etc.

The customizability and the 3 extra house spots (presumably with their own map markers, out in the open, etc) seems like a pretty decent deal.

I'm actually interested in HF, but only because as a big fan of alchemy, the greenhouse and fisheries will make some of the more tedious gathering easier (ever tried picking all the deathbell in hjaalmarch? There's over a hundred nodes...). Although I suspect some house addons will implement that rather quickly.

I think a LOT of people really role play their characters, and being able to build a house helps with playing a "living" role in Skyrim. You put a lot of work into your character, and any way that you can personalize them enhances role playing. Just like the cooking, and even crafting. It's ALL optional, so don't do it if you want a game that just entails running around killing things. That's fine too. Just please stop complaining when DLC comes out that you are not interested in. PLEASE!

You seem to be the type that should play or have played baldurs gate, Champions, or snowblind's latest Lord of the Rings War in the North. Thats more your to style by the looks of it.
But this is a Elder Scrolls game where the possibilitys are endless. Most of the fans whated this im one of them. This also isnt the last add-on content bethesda has planned so its not the end, bigger stuff should come out later.

I have not played Skyrim for a while, after completing it I put it to one side. But after talking to a friend today about it as they just brought it resparked my fire for the game. I had no idea about Dawnguard or Hearthfire but as a PS3 player I guess I will have to wait for them to come.

I for one will be getting them when they come out on PS3, purely as I want to experiance the entire Skyrim experiance. But as people say buy them or dont buy them its your choice don't complain about it.

I am sorry if this has been talked about before... So.. The next expantion is just... Building a house? and raising a family? Either more women are playing these kinds of games, or I am very sad this is what skilled game developers are doing with their creative time.

Gstaff confirmed that there's a larger team working on the more substantial DLC, this is more like treat to hold us off for the feast. So there's no need to worry

The only thing I regret is I am currently playing an orc and he just doesn't fit with civilized living. Currently my home is the orc stronghold near Riften. Unless you will be able to make the house cosmetically work. :-D

I'm actually quite interested in HF. In my opinion; what makes a fictional world believable is often the little details in the environment. Like the milling; no practical use but it gives the workers something to do.
