Here Comes Mr. Winter!

It's just windy and cold in Nebraska. No snow.

That's how Montana was all of December. We had more snow in November, but have had more snow in the last three days than all of December.

Oh look 70F still in SLO. (21C) Although, for the first time in months, it's going to rain.

Mr.Winter and Mr.Pouring'Rain never leave this place, permenant residents in Scotland.
Mr Winter though is good because if it's heavy enough work closes and I can stay home, same for the heavy winds we've been having - my bus shelter has vanished!
As a kid I would have loved to have this weather like 2-10 years ago, I'd have been out everyday in it with friends. Don't see that much now though, people enjoying the snow, overly cautious parent and video games. Curse video games :swear:

I'm on the south coast of England. Winter has been super mild and nice this year. Normally we get lots of rain and the past two years we had a lot of snow and chills. (for England anyway) I don't think we've had a below zero day so far. Barely even frost...

Don't usually get to much snow here, normally just frost which is very annoying when you've got to de frost your car :swear:

When we do get snow however everyone seems to panic. It's embarassing actually that other countries get alot more snow than us carry on, whereas we come to complete stand still.

Seriously we had a few inches at the end of 2010 and hundreds of schools were closed and people were told to stay indoors :shakehead:

This year has been alright so far

Thats the same here in Glasgow, it is actually pathetic that no matter how much we "prepare" we still can't keep the roads moving. A Plow + A Gritter and Salt dropper = sort(?) It's almost rocket science.

Well it's started off slower than usual here. We got our first recordable snow last week, which was about 8 inches. Spose to get some more today too and it's really cold right now at about -1 F, with a -20 something windchill. Usually winters are this brutal here so I'm used to it ..as much as you can get used to freezing..which isn't much. At least I have heat.

Last year we had a day where we got more snow than that wolf bite. 24 inches, with blizzard like winds so in a lot of areas there were 8-13ft drifts. Somehow I escaped almost all drifting where it would have affected me the most. Of course the road south of my driveway had 3ft of snow in it..we eventually got plowed out by the next day and I live in the middle of the city haha. Hopefully we don't have a day like that this year..it was pretty nasty.

We haven't had any snow at all here this year, and it doesn't look like we'll be getting any either. It has been pretty warm. The only time that the temperature really went under 0 °C was during the nights.

Last year it was much worse. Or that was 2 years ago, I'm not sure. Lots of snow, and they ran out of salt for keeping the roads driveable and started using bathing salts instead. Today's road scent: Apple!

Global Warming

The South Coast of England is super mild at the moment!
To be honest though, I'd really like some snow, even just for a short while.

For most of America (Alaska excluded) December was truly pathetic. Now, the Northwest has been hit by one of its biggest snow storms in years. Over the course of the last two and a half days my residence in Montana has seen over twenty inches of snow. I cannot even locate my truck, much less drive it.

So, I am stuck in my apartment for the next two days. How are the weather conditions in y'all's areas and what horror stories do you have?
YES YES YES.
Snowed in October. Then... Barren. I'm glad to see something wintery again.

Supposed to get an inch of snow here maybe a little more. Winter hasn't really hit yet and I'm okay with that.

This is one of the things Canada excels at. My reaction to snow: look out the window...cool...went back to playing Fallout.
