How about no. I'm sure there won't be too many tender little souls hurt by the mentioning of the word "Christmas".

I made my CHRISTMAS avatar on blingee.com. I'm not sure if the MERRY CHRISTMAS is annoying or not. If so, I apologize, but I'm not changing it. :-P

X-mas or Christmas. Does it really matter? Did it even matter when it was X-mas? It's the same thing. Anyway I'm quite starting to consider working on doing something more festive with my usual avatar. So many have added hats though I'd feel weird doing that too.

Do it! Slap a santa hat on that pony. No wait... I literally just thought of this while typing. Put reindeer antlers on it and a red nose to look like Rudolph. You'd have the best looking Christmas avatar out there!

As for people preferring to say or see it as Christmas rather than Xmas has something to do with them removing Christ's name from the holiday and replacing it with an 'X' I think. It is a celebration which originated around Christ's birthday after all, but I'll stop here before going any further seeing as how any sort of religion talk is highly prohibited and forbidden.

I don't see the discrepency over saying Christmas and how it's now necessary to say holiday. People who celebrate and believe in the origins of Christmas aren't bothering those who don't. Saying merry Christmas has basically become a universal and general greeting to where most who say it aren't saying it to wish people a happy Chriist's birthday. People who say happy Hanukkah aren't being obligated to now say happy holidays and if they want they can even create a thread around this time of the year where all those members put those little black hats jewish people wear on all their avatars.

I'm not here to talk about religion in any kind of subjective way, i just want to clear up this misconception. Xmas actually means the same thing as Christmas, it's an abbreviation.

It's been used for a long time and was started by Christians themselves, http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/7b/Simple_Labarum2.svg/133px-Simple_Labarum2.svg.png is the Christian symbol that represents Christ. Which is where it all originated.
The symbol comes from the Greek word for "Christ", which is: Χριστο?

So yeah, if anyone in future claims you're taking the Christ out of Christmas you can tell them otherwise.

As I recall there was a poll taken that determined Jeremy Clarkson was the secret crush of an alarming number of English women on a dating website. Maybe that's not so bad for some people then. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I'm not sure what to do for Christmasification of this avatar but i'll get on it. Went ahead and made my signature more Christmasy in the meantime.

Edit: There we have it!.

Pleasant Secular Gift Exchange Day, everyone!

Keep the Han in Hanukkah.

That could potentially be the best holiday ever. Have 8 days of presents, but you get as much as you do on Christmas. /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I would have so many socks...

Funnily enough, I can't even think of what I want for Christmas: all I need is good company and a dump of snow.

yep, we would open 1 present every day and we always eat a pork free Christmas meal (except a small ham for my grandpa) which included: ussaully crab/lobster. this years it's crab(real) and Chinese food from a local restraunt.
