Homosixuality in ES V

Post » Sat Oct 10, 2009 2:06 pm

Do you think it will be mentioned at all? What are your opinions on wether it should be or should not be mentioned or included? I'm not talking about gay six scenes, but about maybe a gay couple somewhere in the game. Just a thought, because there were a few times in ES IV where homosixuality could be inferred.

It wouldn't exactly affect my game but I don't think it would fit into any part of the game...

and this...

I'm a very open minded person and think it should be included.
Not only to make it more realistic but also to please some of the gay gamers(Yes they exist )

This is one of those things you shouldn't talk about... like religion and politics

Well, I wouldn't complain. It would add another layer of realism after all.
And in TESIV, I think the only homo bits were Vilena Donton's son and his friend
Spoiler
who both end up dying coincidentally

On the other hand, I don't think it's going to be added. Even Bioware is on shaky ground after adding it in Dragon Age, so I think Beth are going to wait a bit.

Is this, in any way, important? Seriously... Where is the "I really dont care."-option for everything?

I couldn't care less, unless it somehow enriches the culture, in which case I'd like it to be added. I doubt it will be included.

why? most of the new rpgs have had romance options, like F:NV

It wouldn't exactly affect my game but I don't think it would fit into any part of the game...

oh yeah, homosixuality doesn't exist in cliche fantasy world

It is a very volitile subject, so I do not believe that it will be anything more than subtle references if at all in TES:V.

I really don't care, as long as its subtle, like in New Vegas.

But its a really edgy subject in reality, we don't want some bad to hit media. Why are you even looking for this in a game anyway, does it really matter?

I think it would be kind of funny, like it was in Morrowind. Really though, I assume most of us are advlts here and we shouldn't be offended by that kind of stuff in this day and age.

I think that is going to be a common thing in this thread. There is no need for it and it won't be there and why would anyone even want it to be in the game?? Does it further the story line? If not, leave it out as it doesn't fit the lore either.

Lets make a poll that asks if you can have relations with your mother ingame, that would attract all the incist people to buy this game (yes they exist) uh.. <- jk.

Nah I wouldn't care if homosixuality was added in the game to be honest, it's there in dragon age and havn't noticed anyone whining about it.

This is one of those things that...

XD
Brings about 20+ responses between I start and finish my post !!!

Well, they needn't make it blatantly obvious, its better to keep it more like in, for example, Oblivion, where http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Viranus_Donton has quite a relationship you can only peek at in his diary.

You know, keep sixuality subtle, in both ways.

Tell me, what would be the purpose of having this?

It's not like you would notice it, unless they had romance subplots like in Mass Effect. And frankly, I don't see this happening.

Well as a gay gamer I would like to have it somehwere in the world, I really liked the way it was handled in Oblivion, it was subtle, not offensive to anyone really, and just made me feel good about the game.

I would only be offended if they added homosixuality and we ended up with some flamboiyant fairy.
