We all know that we are supposed to battle him at the Divide. He wants you dead. So how are you gonna kill him?

Who says I'll be killing him? As far as I know, I may have genuinely wronged him and will try to make amends. If we are forced to kill him . . . Ranger Takedown, then stomp, then A Light Shining in the Darkness.

I'm just saying, he wants me dead. And any person that wants me dead gets whats coming to them. And my characters haven't really done anything to wrong anyone unless they are in the NCR or Legion.

As many others have said, try to make amends and if that is out of the question I'm feeling like going completely unarmed (after I disarm him) or just Anti-Material Rifle with incendiary rounds to the face.

How the heck can you have wronged him if you have complete control of your actions as a character? He may want you dead over jealousy that Mr. House wanted you as the right hand man instead of him.

It is definitely implied that something our character did before the game started caused Ulysses to want to track us. So it would be before your control. Saying that, an interview with Chris Avellone recently seems to imply that it isn't going to ruin most character backstories and that what the courier did to wrong Ulysses was an insignificant action for the courier.
