Giant. This is what happens when you collect them and happen to love RPGs. You get large amounts of games. I intentionally am leaving out Daggerfall and Arena because I know I'll never beat those games. Tycoon and simulators and strategy games(most) are left out, too. But otherwise, my backlog is big enough that even my nephew keeps track of it unintentionally and pulls out games based on if he knows I've been playing them or not. Most likely, he just pulled out a game I haven't played in a long time.
I could care less, though. I feel no need to see gaming as a job or school. It's an activity that keeps me busy, is relaxing, and something I enjoy. I do wish I didn't have to grind so much to beat Star Ocean 3, though. Or grind so much to do much in Drakengard. Really hope Drakengard 3 isn't as slow in walking pace. Drakengard 1 is fun in a weird way, but it has such a slow walking pace. I can handle the largely colorless graphics and muddy colors, but the walking/running is what puts me off.
I pretty much gave up on Sonic Unleashed. I got it for my Nephew and he couldn't get through the Warehog levels and neither could I. So you have a little kid who thinks I am an ultra gamer and he finds out I am probably at the exact same skill level as him in some cases. This kid used to help me figure out what to do in Batman Arkham Asylum when he was 5 and here we are groaning and growling over a Sonic game.
Then, we both gave up. It wasn't worth our trouble and never will be. Chip also was annoying. I still haven't beaten many games from my childhood, either. Mainly old, not so good ones like the first Croc game. Croc 2 was miles better.
I am very careful with money and do not get too crazy with Steam sales due to knowing Steam will one day be no more. I usually buy these games on disc eventually, too, just because of this. I also am very limited in my game interests to a certain extent. Certain games are just avoided by me such as most RTS games. I was turned off the Total War games until I learned they were actually turned based. I plan to check them out soon.
One game I have is actually a game that Steam won't let me run because it is used. I keep the game because I have a side collection of foreign game boxes and Serious Sam HD First Encounter's box art is amazing. This collection extends only to the PC as certain countries get re-releases of old games more often than the US. It's a fun extra hobby if you like old PC games but didn't grow up with a majority of the big PC games.
I seriously need to beat Brutal Legend one of these days. I never feel like it. Great game and an amazing metalhead friendly game, though.
