so how does skyrim look on pc?

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 10:36 am

I will be playing Skyrim on the PC (maxed out) in 2 hours. I live in Sydney, and it's 10pm and unlocks in 2 hours.

I will be posting screenshots (in 2560x1440) maxed out quality on my other thread.

Watch the other thread for updates in 2 hours.

a game this popular and theres been no Pc hi res screenshots ?

Why ?

1: are they not bothered about selling to pc gamers

2: is something wrong with the pc version thats tex related

3: so little difference between console and pc screens they dont want pc gamers to know

4: advertising bawls up and it was simply overlooked

5: xbox didnt want a better version displayed to make the xboxers wary of buying

genuinely curious.

Cut
Because Microsoft paid them a lot of $$, and there are more Console gamers than PC gamers now. They are marketing to the console gamers, and leaveing the PC gamers that got them this far behind. They are even giving the Xbox 360 the first 2 DLC 30days before PC and PS3.

hey lads, i need some advice, i've already pre-ordered my ps3 version of skyrim, never actually thought i'd be able to play in on my rig since its about a year old, based on my specs, do you think i have a decent chance then?

Quad core, 2.8ghz, 3 gb ram(should be 4 but vista svcks), Gtx 260,

i'm assuming i'll have to play it on low settings if i run in on my pc yea?

thanks for the help!

All of what they said about skyrim so far turned out to be true. I really don't think they're lying this time.
You cannot say that until after you have played the game.

Bethesda didn't lie about Oblivion. Take the Radiant A.I. for example. They stated that every NPC would have a schedule they would follow and goals to accomplish. All of that is true, however, their video production only showed the best parts and ignored the poor parts. Marketing 101.

They are trying to sell a game. They are not going to say that the new AI gets boring, or that there are only a few quests generated and they get repetitive, or NPC's conversations are stagnant (Obviously fake examples, I can't know)

Just wait. PC is just a port of the 360. As always.

Sure, we get some AA and AF and Ultra-high res, but the textures will be the same.

The meshes and textures folders of the PC version is about a gig larger on PC than it is on 360, so there has to be some change in textures.

Your computer meets the recommended requirements, that means the least you should expect is high settings.

Todd has already said ages ago that PC low setting = xbox settings. He said that you can NOT make your pc quality go lower than what the xbox does so xbox visual quality is minimum.

If you use a 64 bit OS, you will use and see all of your RAM, it's not because your using Vista, same applies to XP and Win 7 32 bit.

Huh, ultra-high res means Ultra-High-Res Textures, duh. So they won't be the same.

Yes but we'll have mods galore eventually and that to me is worth playing the game on PC. Even if the textures aren't the best, they will be soon enough. Plus, people complain about Oblivion. I think Oblivion is gorgeous and I didn't add any texture mods etc. I play a mostly vanilla Oblivion.

The resolution your screen runs at doesn't have anything to do with the textures.
